Susan Sarandon on meeting Prince ...

My semi famous cousin in NYC scanned the news today and sent this to me :

Most people would be starstruck to meet Susan Sarandon, but the other day, it was Sarandon who was starstruck when she met Prince. “I’ve been to his concerts and he’s pulled me up on stage to dance and everything,” the Dolce & Gabbana-clad actress told us at a luncheon at the Mandarin Oriental for the documentary “20 Feet From Stardom.” “But having an actual conversation with him was awesome. I think I sounded pretty much like an idiot. He summoned me. He found me and brought me to him, gave me a hug and he was lovely.”

Kinda nice to see a small blurb of positivity... wink

Colonel Angus may be smelly. colonel angus may be a little rough . but deep down ... Colonel angus is very sweet.

Of course he was nice to Susan Sarandon, she's a celebrity!

Prince is only a jerk-off to common-folk.

He kisses sooo much Hollywood ass it ain't even funny anymore.

Read the interview with Susannah Melvoin in the July edition of Mojo Magazine, she sums it up pretty nicely and she was actually there so it ain't no gossip,it's THE TRUTH-

Prince lost all street cred around 1985 or so,he changed big time.

I wasnt bitching and moaning. I was just saying that prince doesn't save his bitchiness for fans...he shares the love fairly equally. Pointing out that i felt the person i was replying to was incorrect. I actually like this about rince, he has a level of objectivity i can appreciate. U may see it as me bitchining and mianing, but i am not doing that.

Does P recognize celebrities in the crowd during his shows or do his people give him the lowdown beforehand? During the NPGMC era, Prince took our questions and I asked if he ever recognized his "hardcore admirers" in the crowd. He responded that he did. I would assume the same for celebrities. I dig Susan Sarandon but I think she would be less recognizable as a celeb in a crowd. Perhaps I have lost my marbles.

I would say your post was most certainly bitching and moaning. It had nothing to do with Susan Sarandon - it was only posted to negate the positivity of the Sarandon experience. That makes it bitching and moaning.

No offense.

Perhaps, but this thread isn't about "Is Prince Nice When You Meet Him?"

It's about when Susan Sarandon met Prince.

Eye always liked! How Prince is considered royalty among his peers. He is just as much untouchable to them as he is 2 most of his fans. They all adore & r in awe of him...

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

WoW, that's crazy. Never heard this story at all, but definitely sounds like something Prince would do. Prince has been regarded as Arrogant as hell before so it's not so shocking if you think of him in that way. Lucky for him his Arrogance matches up with his talent, whereas some Major Arrogant artists like Kanye have nothing to back up that level of arrogance.

There are some people who are celebrities because they basically interview well, photograph well, give fans tons of their time and energy, but are not really all that talented per se. I won't say who falls into this group.

Tnen there are people like Susan Sarandon who are funny in interviews, come across as very likeable in the press, and actually are quite talented.

Then there is the third group. Prince and Daniel Day Lewis and quite a few more fall into this category. The only reason we know of them is because of their talent. They are genuinely talented but they don't like doing press and would rather be left alone. I don't care. I like their product and buy it because of the quality. I have no fantasy of meeting them in person. I don't have to like you or respect your life choices to buy your art.
