Tremolina

I think Prince has interested himself in numerology quite a lot. He plays around with numbers very often, starting way back in the 90's already. Perhabs not all too seriously, but nevertheless. His religion, whatever it really is, doesn't seem to stop him still. 3121 seems to proof of that.

Although, the number 3 comes in a close 2nd in my books.

I've always been an odd number person (prefering odd numbers to even) but 8 is my favorite number. I love the shape of it (2 circles on top of one another) and it shows up in my life A LOT. Over and over again it makes an appearance and I keep an eye out for it. It's a sexy number (round, shapely and voluptuous). lol sexy

The fact that the number 8 is very symmetrical is appealing to me as well. I've always prefered symmetry to asymmetry. Just a visual / design thing with me. Things have to look "balanced" for me when it comes to graphic design. Asymmetry is good too as long as the overall design looks "balanced" and there's enough white space on the page. The number 8 also looks similar to the infinity symbol when it's laying horizontally. Cool. cool

I think "meeting your soul mate" is quite "spiritual".

Superconductivity is indeed a physical phenomenon.

However it's one of those hardly understood phenomena that borders on the spiritual. After all, a superconductor loses no energy.

I wouldn't consider superconductivity as spiritual however it is mysterious.

That superconductor concept is quite different from what the song lyrics are about, which are about being in sync, bodies moving to the same rhythm. Maybe the superconductor in the song is a super conductor, as in a very good conductor of an orchestra. See the use of symphony in the lyrics.

In any case, it's more than just 'normal'. More than just 'natural'. It seems special and a mystery.

Something that is very high and hard to achieve. Pretty mystical concept, even tho' the metaphor is a physical phenomenon. A physical phenomenon tho' that borders on the spiritual. Or is closest to it. It's like the song is saying: I want to be loved by somebody spiritually.

I think you are reading too much into it. Everybody is looking for a partner that they can be close to, in sync with, who is special and treats them special. Every love song is about that essentially. Real Mysticism is much more profound that these lyrics.

Well, I think you read too little into it. Actually, you agreed it was mysterious. And this is Prince's form of mysticism, not traditonal mysticism. Any Prince fan knows his lyrics often have deeper meaning than what it reads on the surface. Not like there are any rules as to what is mystic and what not either, but come on now, 'superconductor' is your user name, so, I don't see why you feel the need to post these arguments.

A superconductor. Super means supreme. As in supernatural. Supreme to normal physics. Higher than that. Spiritual.

I don't get your posts. Are you trying to argue over the interpretation of a song? BTW, I said superconductivity is mysterious, not the song. And also pls look at the cd cover with AA holding a baton. You know like the ones a conductor would use.
