When P fucks with the fans, I ALWAYS call him out on his bullshit...
just because I don't get my pitchfork out because I want Prince to do a different set-list everytime I see him does not mean I know what true wackness or disrespect is...
Fans should learn the difference between true asshole behavior (3EG's behavior against Serpan), and the random shit P has done to some of the fans over the years and the tired yelping that happens on this site.... [Edited 7/27/13 15:58pm]

Actually I'm not. If you've seen any of my posts in this forum, then you know I call BS when I see it. And, yes. I am above it all. Prince and crew can get called on their BS without some of the things I've seen posted on here.

Yes....we should still be shocked.....because this is different than P sending a C&D letter out to someone bootlegging his music...
It's all about common respect....And P and his people need to be clowned for his...Big time....

It was not bullying. It was rather condescending, at best short-sighted and ill-considered, at worst ungrateful and petty.
Serge is a grown man, yes a very enthusiastic fan who I'm sure feels rather deflated, disappointed, and maybe a little bitter right now but he is an intelligent person. I'd be very surprised if he felt bullied. His resigned responses immediately after both in the chat and on Twitter do not seem to suggest that anyway. Accusations of bullying for every disagreement on the Internet really are unnecessary. [Edited 7/27/13 16:12pm] Just somewhere in the middle,

I have been a hardcore 'fan' since i was a kid ('86) i'm often glad i did not go online until jan '09. I don't consider myself a 'purple kool aid drinker' or a 'hater', i have always thought P is an amazingly talented man but like all of us has a higher & lower self. I make a point to not involve myself in any form of online negativity as there is more than enough of it in the 'real world'. This tho has irritated me enough to post, & i don't even follow serpan/funkenberry/fb/twitter ect. "We just let people talk & say whatever they want 2 say. 9 times out of 10, trust me, what's out there now, I wouldn't give nary one of these folks the time of day. That's why I don't say anything back, because there's so much that's wrong" - P, Dec '15

Or....maybe Serp is being the kind, forgiving, cool person that he is....Maybe he is taking the high road because he understands that profressionalism can make an asshole look bad...
Believe me...I've had my share of tussles with folks on this board who have done WAY TOO MUCH in making Prince out to be the man downstaires...I'm called out the trolls on this site who have incessantly posted trivial criticism of P (and his fans) as if the man owes them the world...So believe me...I've been in your shoes....
But this? This is different...
And yeah...It's bullying....

Just observe how electric and dynamic this performance is; there is no other way of describing it, but the man centre stage was in "the zone" and the people around him were in that zone, too. Just look at the way he interracts with Wendy towards the end and the way Eric goes nuts on his sax and the way Prince himself comes across as so genuinely and naturally proud of what he and they were creating TOGETHER. The situation with Wendy's sister must have hurt him. We know so many of those songs were inspired by her. We know he soon disbanded The Revolution. And we know he soon went into a dark place therafter. But what on Earth has happened to that man? And what on Earth has happened to those people surrounding him? And, finally, what on Earth has happened to us?

When folks jump on you beyond understandable reasons...And they do so in a flurry of comments....And it becomes less about the music and more about control, then yes...It's bullying....
Here's the difference:
P getting his lawyers to take down recorded, copyrighted material= not bullying...
P and his people forcing a fan to stop posting/tweeting about live streams (again...think about that for a second....)= bullying...
I get it...There's a lot of bullshit that goes on on this site...There's a lot of boy who cried wolf complaining that has turned the Org into a bitchy, sad place...
But u should know the difference between fans just making petty, bullshit posts and fans that have legit issues with Prince and his team....
In this case, we are at the latter.....

Is anyone else utterly shocked by the atrocious grammar from the 'representative'? It reads as if it was written by a 15 year old girl. How on earth did this person manage to get a job in Prince's camp with such an appaling standard of written communication, and then be given the responsibilty of dealing with the public on behalf of 3rdEyeGirl! I expect a much higher standard from an act as big as Prince. [Edited 7/27/13 17:27pm] I got two sides... and they're both friends.

Well that snippet of conversation is an eye opener. Serpan acted like a mature and kind person throughout. The other "person" whoever that maybe (I think we all know) acted like a horrible passive aggressive prick. There have been some low points for the last 10 years of prince fandom, but this is the worst. It's just so mean spirited and juvenile. "My God it's full of Stars"

Definition of respect - Serpan's behaviour in respect to 3EG impeccable. He immediately responded to the requests and corrected what were considered the pain points from 3EG. On the other side, Wow! What an owngoal, seriously Prince's organisation couldn't handle this in a much more professional manner. Why are we even talking about this, someone either had a head explosion, or they still "roll like dat"? (cue Gangster Glam video) They "humiliate" a guy that does a better job at the "right price" keeping Prince's fanbase informed on social media than the people on the payroll at Paisley Park. He's just a fan just like the rest of us, he doesn't think he's Prince PR department and genuinely does what he does to help other fans. I am thankful for all the "work" you have done Serpan and strongly urge you to continue your tweeting, because in the real world "time is not a trick". Contrary to what has been written he is not banned from anywhere, just the standard cant use copyrighted material which is fair enough. I will add we as fans should not to be choosing sides, we should all be happy that there is more than one outlet to get Prince news. Whether that is Jester or Dr Funkenberry or Serpan, it is unneccesary to attack them for doing this for us . There certainly is no need for the outlandish long bow being drawn on Jester and childish slights on Dr Funkenberry. As for the title of this thread @3rdeyegirl you know the twitter account.

I am a 40 year old fan who loves purple music & has seen the man live 70 times over the years including the recent 3 Montreux shows + aftershow. I'd like 2 say THANKYOU VERY MUCH 2 Serpan 4 his twitter feed as he has kept me very well informed. The way P releases information & music through multiple obscure channels is confusing & embarrassing 4 an artist of his stature. I always turn 2 Serpan several times daily 2 find out what the time is!! The way a representative of 3EG has treated Serpan is disgusting & I am very angry & dissappointed about it. Prince employs amateurish wankers!!!

I've just been reading a little about how livestream operates and the different price plans they have in place for account holders.
Obviously the 3rdeyegirl account is not a free one as there are no ads around the page or over the top of the videos? Different tiers of payment are available and it looks like if you go over your allowance (in terms of viewer hours/or users) you get a larger monthly bill than you were perhaps expecting. You see where I'm going with this I'm sure. So for goodness sake don't promote it, Prince has bills to pay people! Just a theory but it made me wonder. That "we prefer a small gathering" line is still sticking right in my gullet. EDIT: Nah, I've read some other more up to date pricing articles now and it looks like livestream have a $333/$399 per month plan which does not punish the account holder for success in quite the way I was alluding to. I was way off it seems. Probably just a throwaway comment from 3EG. I'll get off it now. [Edited 7/27/13 17:28pm] [Edited 7/27/13 17:38pm] Just somewhere in the middle,

I was about to turn off my computer last night (this morning) when I noticed the 3EG posts, so I caught the whole exchange live. I get the feeling (and I could be wrong) that this has been going on for a while behind the scenes. Serpan posted some Montreux pics on here the other day and then, poof, they were gone. The "girlfriend" thread that included a pic from his Twitter page also disappeared. To be honest, I think that some of the things that Serpan has posted go beyond the music into a whole other realm, and he really should credit every source, but I do appreciate that he has taken the time out to keep people informed and has also highlighted band members and their various musical endeavours. 3EG's passive-aggressive public attack was not at all pleasant to watch. What surprised me was the tone of authority in which they spoke. That coupled with the potshots taken at The Time, Bria, Carmen and Susannah/fDeluxe leads me to believe that this wasn't a young novice. And no, I don't think it was Prince. [Edited 7/27/13 18:02pm] I was Sir Lancelot, I didn't want you to be misled.

Also the 3EG wanker bemoans the exploitation of the symbol with regard 2 lost revenue. At Montreux 100's of fans wore excellent self made T-shirts etc. because nothing of quality has been sold 4 years. P could of made thousands of dollars selling merchandise inc. posters, tambourines, clothes, Andy Allo cd's. Those were rich folks he could of milked!!
