If it wasn't for the org (and particularly Serpan) I would never have known that the livestream thing was even happening. And I've been a rabid fan for 30+ years.

Furthermore, this representative appears to say one thing (see bolded above) and then another thing in direct contradiction, which suggests, at best, short-term memory loss and, at worst, an underhand dishonesty. Either way, it would be difficult for this representative to come across as any more unprofessional and, ultimately, this type of amateur operation reflects poorly on Prince. Protect copyright by all means, but use a professional PR and Legal team in co-ordinated efforts with one another. Do NOT use the equivalent of what comes across as a glorified teenage girl working the till behind a shop counter, especially if she is chewing gum in front of the public. Again....pointing out asshole fans that feel entitled is one thing....I'm all for that....But taking up for Serpan who has been nothing but respectful towards the Prince camp and gets belittled and shitted on for his troubles? Nah...

Because it's bigger than protecting a copyright....Don't fall for that...That's just a shield....The 3EG folks actually beefed with Serpan for getting the word out about the live streams....Again, we all know P can be an ass....And at times fans get too wrapped up and sensitive about the man and his business....
But this is more about good ol' fashioned respect....
And before u go the whole "you guys are fanatic route" I'm usually the one pointing out the petty, bullshit fake fans that troll this site on the daily with their endless posts about how Prince is no longer bringing it...And at the same time I have it out with delusional STANS who get mad when u call P short...But in this case? , You're right, I see the relationships other artists have with their fans: encouraging dialogue and sharing. And I wish Prince would do more of that. But I always knew he wanted to maintain a distance. However, when it crosses the line into the sort of bullying and disrespect that Prince (or his close associates) showed to Serpan, I have a problem.I guess I am realizing that there is a lot of good music out there and a lot of deserving artists I could support: local bands and national acts alike. And I would rather spend my time, energy, and money on artists that give more back to their fans and still have some humility. I doubt I will ever give up on Prince completely (I have been a fan since "I Wanna Be Your Lover" came out), but I would rather focus on other artists right now. | |

They couldn't do this via email or something? Cause if this were me in a public forum for all to see, I would have told 3eg to kiss my motherfuckin' ass and all kinds of other nice things, and then dared them to do something about it. I was really disgusted by the messages to Serpan. I don't know the guy, but why treat a FAN like that. Prince has lived a good life off of people who support him and do something like this is so immature. I am a huge FAN of Prince, but the messages were just so immature that is was scary. You can clearly see that Prince likes young people around becuase a grown person would say thank your fans and focus on your music. I am getting so tired of Prince and his ways. I feel like I have been in denial but his recent statements are riduculous. You don't talk to your band, you only deal with young people. Dude what is really going on? You are doing cover songs when you have a vault. Change with the times and don't disprespect your fans. Would you please get someone who knows what they are doing on your team. I long for the days of hits!!!

I know Serge & I have had our differences in the past, all past now, but by God he always serves the rest of us Prince fans well. Where do I go first to find out anything- Serpan99, always. Love me Drfunkenberry so much 💜, but Serpan promotes everything about Prince, almost warts'n'all, even if he don't sometimes say where on tinternet he gets it from (!) & I know this may be a contentious point 4 some. 
There r so many different young folk involved with P these days, that I wonder who was actually posting the 3rdeyegirl comments. Cuz I don't get to be 37 & not recognise when someone is a bit pissed when posting online... T'is all I'm saying. Maybe someone got their arse right royally kicked this morning 4 their less than classy attempts of communication.
