I was listening to the "leaked" 'Our Destiny' [with Lisa's vocals...???] today @ work [during my lunch break], & a thought popped into me brain.....Has anyone tried to combine the studio version with the Prince vocal live version from the 84 First Ave Live boot? I would "try" to do it myself, but I really can't find the time to spend doing it. I know that there are a lot of audiophiles on this forum, & regardless the outcome, it may be the closes we'd get to hearing a studio Prince version of that song [unless...... ].

I was really excited to hear the boot [when it first leaked], until it was explained that Prince was vocally missing from the track. It was definitely disappointing [@ least to me ]. But, I did really enjoy the music. So, does anyone think that it can work?? Is anyone willing to try & combine the two, & let those wondering hear it too??

I've always wanted to try this as well. I was let down when I found out it was Lisa on vocals and not Prince's studio version. I will try to combine them and see what I can come up with!

First question - do you know if the two versions are in the same key? If they aren't, can this be done at all?

They seem to be....I even think the tempo is the same too....

Very true. I was actually trying to sync them myself earlier today....but I haven't the patience to really get it right....

Well, I gave it a nice little go, using Audacity, & surprisingly, the matching of the tempo is the only problem [for me]. They vocally actually match up pretty well. I know for a fact that with the right program [& knowledge to use it properly], these tracks can be edited together. it will take some chopping of things, but it can definitely be done.
