And Doc's confirmed that Plectrum Electrum is to be an instrumental album, One track is to have Prince on vocals and one is to have Hannah on vocals.... Interesting [Edited 7/1/13 22:23pm] That doesn't sound interesting at all. All this build-up to.... an instrumental album? Zzzzzz. Oh, plus Live Out Loud and Fixurlifeup.

Bummer, was in the middle of a meeting when the alert came, menstrual cycle?? Hmm something about the girls all being synch, all the way down to their menstrual cycle?? It was still freezing in Minneapolis a weeks ago, how much has it really warmed up?? Did get an email alert, but just discovered that email at 7:30am EST. Guess I was fast asleep when the alert came through, so missed it. Alerts at normal hours would be cool. Can't win with that camp. [Edited 7/2/13 4:36am]

I just wanna Cry Out Loud when I hear that it might be an instrumental album, boring as f*ck just like all those protégé albums. Welcome 2 The Dawn

I haven't gotten a single e-mail notification of these events, and I signed up. Who else hasn't gotten any e-mails?
Serpan, are you getting them?
Also, where and when DrFunkenberry (j7) confirm that there was going to be an instrumental album (as claimed in this thread)?

They played four tracks, instrumentals. Wonderful stuff. 1 Menstrual cycle 2 Plectrum electrum 3 Octopus heart 4 Moon drops The email alert tells you when it's live but Dr Funkenberry gave a warning about an hour before the event started. 3rdeyegirl posted a new message on the live stream site and Funkenberry alerted people to it. So I suggest you follow Funkenberry, that's how I found out. ...every night another symphony...

3rdeyegirl said in the chat they were dropped from an album. Could have been a joke though. Given the last stream was sub-titled "THE THIRD HEART OF THE OCTOPUS MENSTRUAL CYCLE ORIGINALLY DROPPED FROM..." ...every night another symphony...

"Dropped from an album", meaning that they were eliminated from a tracklist for an album?
...or "dropped from an album" as in "I'm about to drop this joint on you..."? "He's a musician's musician..."

Giovanni,
My guess is that these instrumentals were part of the work in progress for the album, but they have since been discarded in favour of new material. However, the music gives us an insight into what we might expect. Perhaps, a more psychedelic, heavier, version of N.E.W.S. meets C Note meets LotusFlower, with a sprinkling of The Rainbow Children's style of instrumentals...

Hello. Your guess sounds like the most logical conclusion. If what is to be sounds like what you describe, I'm in for a treat, as 'N.E.W.S.', 'C-Note', 'Lotusflow3r', and 'Rainbow Children' are strong favourites of mine!
Thanks,

I really liked the tracks being played last night. Def a trippy psychedelic fusion sound.
I'm ok with an instumental album as long as that's not the only thing coming. If these type of tracks are on it it'll be great and all but I still would like to see it accompanied with a vocal album. "Hey, I got the butta 4 ya muffin, honey.. I'm just 2 old 2 hold the knife!"

why is this thread not a sticky?, fuckin' bizarre!..shit loads of FREE music..some of it brilliant and it's not deemed worthy? Surely there should be a sticky for each days stream + tracklist etc. Just fuckin' weird!!
For the record some of this is great stuff, it's good to hear jam sessions. Midnight Blues & Menstrual Cycle are rockin hard in my head!

Okay, so a "friend" hipped me to the instrumentals. I'd just like to know who is playing the Fender Rhodes... it sure sounds like Prince.
If they recorded live, then I can imagine/hear Donna playing guitar while P hits the Rhodes, and if so, she's good.
If that's Hannah on drums, then I'm hearing a subtlety I hadn't heard previously... and other nuances and rhythms I haven't heard her play before.

I think this site is allowed to talk about other stuff but not highlight other links, etc. which is why there is no direct link to funkenberry or other assorted fan sites.
Just a guess.

No I disagree. Since this is from an official source, it really should be a "3rdEye Girl TV" sticky. Not only is it official, it's live and current. The Org has always respected official sources. "He's a musician's musician..."
