I like this kind of Prince. It sorta reminds me of the Lovesexy area. Not musically, but in terms of Humour. Around 87-88-89 Prince's music (Especially live) was full of humour.... Just like this ditty.

nod I see where you're coming from there.

It's musically completely flimsy but there's a certain charm to it. I don't hate it. It's like an OK-level out-take (which is what I treat these download tracks as - offshots, ideas and sketches).

Review: Prince Sings About Rubbing On Ta-Tas On 'Ain't Gonna Miss U...'

Keith Murphy Posted June 13, 2013 - See more at: http://www.vibe.com/artic...09kEG.dpuf

Here’s some advice: Don’t waste your time trying to figure Prince out. For well over 30 years, the mercurial music icon has reveled in confounding fans and critics with one shocking statement after another. In fact, he seems to get some twisted, eye-winking enjoyment out of it all. During the ‘80s, when Prince dominated that decade like a man possessed (soulful gruff vocalist Macy Gray once appropriately described the prolific artist that created such landmarks as Dirty Mind, 1999, Purple Rain, and Sign ‘O’ The Time as being eaten by the music monster). Was he black or white; straight or gay; sinner or new-age prophet? Who the hell knows? At 55 years old, he’s still playing head games on his latest single “Ain't Gonna Miss U When U're Gone,” a departure from his recent rock-centered output with his three-piece female band 3rd Eye Girl. - See more at: http://www.vibe.com/artic...09kEG.dpuf

The swinging middle finger, which features the first-rate vocals of soul diva Ledisi, is the latest in a string of tracks that Prince has been delivering to followers for 88 cents on his website (Wait a minute! Didn’t Mr. Rogers Nelson declare a holy war on the Internet?!? More head games…). If you like your Royal Badness sexy, cocky, weird (kudos to the trippy, slowed-down vocals) with a slight touch of sleaze, give this a spin. This is sneering Minneapolis funk as Prince declares to an ex that has done him wrong, “If it wasn’t for me, you’d be a who…” The bass line slaps with the fury of a scorned lover as horns duck and jab over a synth groove that tongue kisses the Prince-produced 1982 Vanity 6 masterpiece “Nasty Girl.” And with a sneaky line of which the Purple Man speaks of rubbing on ta-tas, it seems like the Jehovah's Witnesses has re-embraced his Royal Badness mojo. More please.—Keith Murphy (@murphdogg29) - See more at: http://www.vibe.com/artic...09kEG.dpuf

She's an r&b/soul singer. She performed with Prince and the NPG a couple of times within the past 4 years. She sang with Prince and the NPG on a tv show when he sang "Turn me Loose'(2009), if I remember correctly.

Hi there! Surprised to see you posting in this forum. (Will send you an orgnote..smile hug)

I like the music variations in the song and it has a nice funk beat to it. (Bolded part of article). So the writer of that review of the song, believes the song is about an ex-girlfriend, as do others.

For some reason, as far as Prince's exes, I don't think the song is about Bria at all, because there wasn't any info going around that they ended their relationship on a sour note for the lyrics to reference her. I think the song references an ex-girlfriend from the 80s era who was a protege of his camp, especially in the line where he said "If it wasn't for me, you'd be a who?" Not too many Prince fans know about Bria, but most of his fans are more familiar with the names of some of his former, 80s proteges whose names have been associated with his for years, and have been rumored to be his girlfriends during that time period.

Could it be and ex-gf/protege who was expecting more for her career with her past association with Prince, but that career went kerplunk, nowhere, once that association with Prince was over, and their friendship/relationship ended on an unresolved, bitter, and sour note? Who knows, but the song will keep fans guessing. Hey for all we know, whomever she is, she has probably posted on the Org at one time or another.

The song may also just bring some publicity for whomever that ex is. Can you imagine all his exes hearing that song and wondering if the song is about them? bitchfight Only Prince can pull something like this off. lol For fun"s sake, in your critique of the song, feel free to add to the list who you think the ex is, that Prince may be singing about and why:

Prince's 80's ex-gfs:

Vanity

Susannah

Carmen Electra

Jill Jones

My guess from that list, (and it's just a guess), is that my sixth sense tells me the song may be about Jill Jones, because for some reason, from reading the interview that was posted in the Assoc Artist's section, some time ago, she seems to come off with a bit of sarcasm, bitterness and sassiness, when speaking of her past association with him during/and after that friendship/relationship. popcorn

You don't have to wait for the email. If you wait about 10 to 15 seconds, and return to the 3rdeyegirl site, and look in the center of the page, below the order details, in small letters, in center of that page, it gives you the link to tell you to download, once you purchase the song. The font is small, and easy to miss, which is why a lot of fans miss where they can click and download. The site needs to fix that and make the font large so those purchasing the songs can actually see that link to download.

Prince is showing how much he's an arrogant, immature, egomaniac with a fragile ego, and how his current music is not great so the best thing he can do is write a song trying to humiliate the women who leave him so he can try to make himself feel like a big man. Who the hell wants to Bible study with this little fake JW.

.

Gosh...that's a little harsh? It almost sounds as if u took this song personal...

It sounds like I don't like Prince or his new song 'Aint Gonna Miss You'. I think Prince is expressing his harsh truth in a boring, weak, and negative song and he released it NOW because he thinks it will cause controversy and get his fans to speculate. This is another one of his team's weak publicity stunts because it's difficult for him to just release great music. So, there is no good reason this song was released and maybe I did take it personal. I "Aint Gonna Buy It". giggle It's another weak song by Prince trying to generate publicity for this new 3rd Eye Girl album he's supposedly planning to release. Serpan do you know if Ledisi did this song last August when they hung out and he asked her to help him promote Andy Allo's 'Superconductor'? I think Ledisi ass-kissed and went so overboard with her review on facebook and twitter about Andy Allo's 'People Pleaser' she couldn't even type it without (laughing). She helped him promote Andy and created confusion when she put out the wrong release date for Superconductor. It was another weak publicity stunt imo. I guess this is why she's on this new Prince song. Serpan, you appear to be moving up in the Prince Universe ranks. Have you been Bible studying with him yet? Don't worry if Prince will be effected by my words. He needs to understand people like me who know great music will not buy his new music with weak beats and lyrics. We also won't speculate if he's singing about one of his ex-girlfriends from the 80's in this song. Only a few of his few obsessed fans will speculate about it. They are only a small group now but if Prince has his way with the internet, his cult-like fan community will grow. So, in the words of org member murph I say, "man...fuck this place...lol" and this new song.

I see murph wrote the song review posted here today. I know he's a member in this fan community and I like him but murph...come on..."New age Prophet", "The swinging middle finger", and your headline states "Prince Sings About Rubbing On Ta-Tas". Prince is not even singing about rubbing on ta-tas so your headline "Prince Sings About Rubbing On Ta-Tas On 'Ain't Gonna Miss You' and the part, Prince "rediscovers his inner nasty libido on his new Ledisi collabo" is false. I know you were just trying to help generate hype for Prince's weak shit but "false media, we don't need it! It's fake that's what it be to ya, dig me?" (Public Enemy, 'Don't Believe The Hype').

"Some say I'm negative but they not positive...but what I got to give..the media says this."

Hey imago! They gotta be beaming that pipe, you know what I'm saying. Yo Prince got them going up to see Captain Kirk, like a jerk and they out of work. Don't believe the hype. lol

Here’s some advice: Don’t waste your time trying to figure Prince out. The song is ok, not at all a hit. I believe in getting your emotions out through writing, but it feels like he release a song directed to specific people. I think that he should stop trying to send subliminal messages and focus on making good music. Pick up the phone and read the lyrics instead of wasting time and energy on a song like this. We miss HITS Prince. If you are made communicate your feelings in different ways. Who are you talking to anyway?

If she's gone and he 'aint gonna miss' her it shouldn't matter who he's talking about. He wants people to speculate because he knows his new music is far from great. I think it's negative for him to send subliminal messages still try to use Bria and/or have his fans speculate if he's talking about her in this new song. It's funny how over the last 5 yrs Prince managed to attach himself back to many people (ex-bandmembers/his old groups/ex-girlfriends/) from his past work whenever he released something. Drfunkenberry played a major part in assisting him. He needed to use them to help him promote his concerts yet he apparently believes he makes and breaks people. He needs to check Self before he wrecks Self.

*

Prince can be wrong as two left shoes and certain fans will continue to overlook his negativity. This song is boring. It's not the type of song many people would listen to twice. Who enjoys lame lyrics with him saying he'll give "credit where credits due but if it wasn't for me, you'd be a who"? I think mostly those already associated with him or those wanting to join his cult will rave about 'Aint Gonna Miss U'. The man is a narcissist who claims to be a Jehovah's Witness in life and on record he claims to make and break people. With lines like "Pardon my critique", "Blessed are the meek"? "Better take your bougie ass and be gone"? he sounds pathetic. Whoever he's talking about I'm sure she won't miss him either. He must still be bitter she told him to keep on walking in those crooked shoes of his. I would read Prince right here but I'm going to wait to read him to his face.

Btw...do u think there's a good reason why this song is released NOW? Listening 2 lyrics... music twocents

Actually, Prince sounds like he is really having FUN on this record. The tone of the music is decidedly light hearted and tongue-in-cheek. Do you think it is possible that you might be taking Prince far too seriously? You appear to be seeing things through such a negative filter that your conclusions do not appear to match upto a reality other than your own; self-confirmatory bias. Clearly, I am not the only one who thinks this, as the majority of responses to you echo my conclusion. Perhaps, you might need to take a chill pill. It's not that serious.

The responses to me from those who echo your "conclusion" are from the usual ass-kissing, obsessed, fans and sycophants like yourself so clearly you only speak for them. Do you think it's possible you and this so-called "majority" of yours can stop replying to me like you care so much about conclusions and my reality, especially if really think I'm so nuts, psycho, crazy, and all the other negative labels you and your majority have called me? Do you think you can just ignore me as I have FUN on this site? Thanks.

This thread is about his new song and I'll admit after listening to it for a 2nd time I think it's kind of funky. I did a few old school dances to it. It sounds like a song from his 80's 'Black Album'. He's back to using his evil alter-ego Bob George but I hope he's not trippin on ecstasy again and were not going to see "DON'T BUY THE 3RD EYE GIRL ALBUM" in a few months.

Sassey,

It is a common form of courtesy/social etiquette that if you are the one having fun, whilst others grimace because of the way you have fun (especially if the way you have fun is negative in nature), to change your behaviour or, at the very least, to reflect on it. Perhaps, you are having fun, like you say, but the majority of responses to the way you're having fun are not appreciative.

If a bully is having "fun" in the playground, should the rest of the playground put up with it or let that bully know that bullying is not appreciated? If you are receiving negative responses from others in this playground, Sassey, then perhaps you should reflect on the fact that you brought your negative attitude and behaviour in the first place.

Spirit

Tentative lixs cool :

.

I Ain't gonna miss U when U're gone,

When I did U right, U did me wrong

Ain't gonna miss U when U're gone

Only thing I'm leaving is U alone...

.

Pardon my critique, but something's changed,

Every time U speak, it sounds deranged..

Blessed are the meek, U used to be my girl,

Now U're just a freak, strolling back in the world...

.

Ain't gonna miss U when U're gone,

Only thing I'm leaving is U alone...

.

Stacking the weeks (?), simple count the years (?)

I've never been scared of nothing, but U I fear,

No more curse cause U're away

Nothing's worse than salty talk on holy days...(?)

.

Ain't gonna miss U when U're gone,

Ain't gonna miss U when U're gone,

.

Ain't gonna miss U, never Boo,

I bet U think this song, this song's about U

I give credit where, credit's due,

But if it wasn't for me, U'd be a who?

.

(Bob George Voice):

"Last time I checked, every line is freed,

Free of each other now, U and me..

Speak my name, sing my songs

Just don't ask me to miss U when U're gone..."

.

(Fast speed Bob George rap):

Never gonna miss U ,don't look for me to hit U, only thing I'm leaving with U is alone,

Nobody wanna kiss you where the sun and moon will hit U, baby take your booty out and be gone... (?) lol

.

Aint gonna miss U, never Boo,

It really don't matter, whatever U do..

Ain't gonna miss U, never maa,

(bob voice): Yo horny Lover, can U rub her tatas (?!?) lol

.

Ain't gona miss U when U gone...

.
