anywho, i'm liking this a lot. minimal but with nice attention to tiny details floating

in and out of it. the kind of song that sounds like it had a lot of attention going in2

it, despite it sounding so 'empty'.

loving the sped up/slowed down backing vocals and that funny bob george rap

the 'extended' part is great. yup, i'm loving this one.

Well the vault says mid 2012 and end of 2012 (on the same page) but 2008 is not a bad guess as her 'Lost & Found' cd from 2007 got a lot of airplay and she could have come to recognition then.

didn't she post about andy allo and prince last year, something about being in the studio

listening to some new stuff they recorded or something like that. my guess is that prince

asked her to do backing on this songs back then.

I'm guessing it was recorded around 2011 like Same Page Different Book was, same horn section and Ledisi has performed with Prince a few times since 2008. Its not great, npgmc style drums, weak hook. Funky enough, but deffinately never album worthy, so the usual situation with these online tracks then...

That's the first thing I thought, but I didn't want to post it! Annnyyywaaay... I like it. Still some "interesting" lyrics, but more than anything I'm glad the 3rdeyegirl site is back from the dead.

To the other poster who mentioned the "07" in front of the song title--what IS up with that??

From what we've heard so far, The Breakdown, Ain't Gonna Miss U, 2 Young 2 Dare and possibly U Will Be With Me - This looks set to be a good album. Although we at least know what track 7 is going to sound like

I like the song- I think it was probably recorded in mid-late 2012 too when he was recording alot with different band members and the horn section. I don't think it features Donna and Hannah on the song though (idk just don't hear their style).

Sounds much better than what I could glean from the Dakota previews. And I love the hint of Black Album/Lovesexy touches, with the voices. Strong new track.

hmm..first impression...nothing great...typical prince groove that doesnt really go anywhere...lightweight ear candy...i think (or hope) that all these 3rd eye tracks are stuff that prince thinks isnt good enough for a proper album release...i am happy that he is releasing them as they are of interest to the hard core fans but i am hoping he has a higher calibre of songs ready for the album...the best track i have heard this year is the snippet of "down" which i hope is on the album..now that is a good prince track...
