Not me! When Eye first saw Prince 4 the first time. He stripped down 2 this with no shame @ all... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

I absolutely loved (and miss) Prince's drag queen-inspired Lovesexy days, in terms of style (not to mention all the brilliant music). If not for this period, I would have probably not been able to maintain my interest throughout the mid 90's to mid 00's. There was a time when my walls were nothing but Lovesexy era posters of Prince all gussied up. Love it. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

I agree with all 3 of U
fans are used to Prince in head to toe suites with rated PG concerts for the kiddies to sing along
So if we think this look is butt-ugly we're conservative and unable to accept anything from that is adventurous!? Nice generalizing. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

If he wasn't so damned hairy, it would be likeably gay as hell.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
In this day and age the hairiness might be the most radical thing about this image. The wooh is on the one!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
lol at conservative just cause we dont like the way a hairy man looks in that awful getup im 20 and i think he just looks awful. take off the leg warmers, shave and thats already 10x better
oh and btw in case you didnt realize my homophobic generation would not go for this in a second they would call him a gay and blast him to the ends of the earth. the 80s was the ONLY time prince could be this radical [Edited 6/5/13 14:00pm] welp

most of the 'made up' looks were just photos. On stage Prince went very natural.
Even in this pic he doesn't have much makeup if any, look at his eye brows, not done...

talking about people who seem to not know that Prince for most of his career dressed as he pleased and outrageous.
. It's not the 2000s suite Prince that made him big

that was the album cover to the live bootleg lp dance, music, sex, romance that me and my uncle wanted to buy at a place that we first discovered called collectors world. this lp set was selling for over $100 bucks and my uncle didnt have the money that day and he hid it in the back on the section for prince and it was gone when we came back on his following pay day and that was back in 1993. I think now, how I would love to find that lp set somewhere and I remember there was a song on it titled "kansas city" and we actually thought that they were all studio outtakes at the time.

It's sad to me that so many people feel a need to diss one era to support another era. I'm just glad that I've been a fan since 1979 to enjoy Prince's journey and enjoy each era or period and not feel the need to diss one for the other. So rather than having to choose the wilder Lovesexy era over the so-called yawn-fest pimp suit era, I've had years of eclectic and funky joy. Besides, some of y'all ain't wild enough to wear your draws in public, and the rest of y'all ain't funky enough to wear a playa's suit. Yet, a very select few of us look good doing it all and are free enough not to care about the haters.

Your post makes me cringe. Thank God the rest of your generation is not homophobic like you. I actually find it quite bizarre that you would think that young people are MORE homophobic today than they were in the 1980s. I mean, even for a 20-y/o that's the most inane statement I've heard in a while. And this is the Org.
Homophobia is pathetic, and so incredibly old-fashioned. Young people who make ignorant statements like calling someone "a gay" (I mean, for real?! A gay?!) and who make references to "blasting" gay people "to the ends of the earth" are not in touch with their generation. Maybe you and your friends are homophobic, but luckily your generation isn't. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

Hmm. Seems like Dirty Mind revisited ala '88 to me.

It is fucking weird that Prince fans would have any problem with this picture.

People, you ARE Prince fans. His androgynous look is entry level stuff. "New Power slide...."

I say the same, I always thought the hair was like his 4U/Prince look almost like the Lovesexy look was a mix and match of all his eras, you even get Purple Rain & Parade in there
