even tiger woods takes golf lessons so I think it would help prince's playing tremendously if he took lessons from a professional to improve his playing. I think his left hand position is terrible draping over the fingerboard when his thumb suppose to be in the middle of the back.He also raises his fingers way too high off the fretboard which is why he can't

play super fast leads.prince plays all his power chords from the "C" shape which is totally wrong.....he should know at least 5 shapes and a teacher could help him learn the others.

he also needs to learn finger tapping and playing with his fingers instead of always playing with the huge plectrums he use.for someone his size a smaller jazz plectrum would make his guitar much quieter. Joe satriani would be a great teacher for him.Do you thinkthe lessons would help his flaws or is he too old to learn new tricks?

The OP raises a good question and appears to know the technicals of guitar playing. I don't and I think Prince is a great guitar player but I don't think Prince will ever be too old to improve the things he knows need improvement or to learn new tricks.

Dude...when was the last time you've seen Prince perform live to arrive at an opinion like that? Also, who are your influences and inspirations, as far as guitar players?

joe satriani is not an impressive guitarist .. prince does not need more anal technicality in his playing .. he needs someone to inspire more creative melodies .. and he need serious help with his distorted tone .. we know he listens to santana and hendrix ... it baffles me that he does not strive to compete on their level and is happy to play the same boring solo in almost every live setting .. he has a few moments of great soloing .. purple rain and while my guitar gently weeps are quite good ... kiss and little red corvette have solos not by prince .. but we wish they were because they are very good .. most of his solos are quite predictable, simple and often very boring and often interchangeable with a solo he will play later in the set .. rarely does he step outside his comfort zone like he did on while my guitar gently weeps .. during which it seemed he was really just going for it and not playing it safe and boring like he usually does .. in conclusion .. prince needs to unlearn all the boring technical precision he safely inserts all the time and get more experimental with his solos .. it would definately help for him to study more of the masters like dave gilmore, jimmy page, hendrix, joey santiago, george harrison, santana, all of these cats make solos that are memorable and are also undeniably important to the song itself .. prince solos are often inconsequential to the music .. and just there to fill space .. lessons no .. forget all he has learned thus far .. yes

who plays the guitar solo on Kiss? The Mazarati version knocking about doesn't have the same solo as the released version...
