Yup, definitely on iTunes, did you search under 3rdeyegirl, no spaces?

@ gollygirl, yes we have to pay extra yet again, don't think it has anything to do with the Aussie dollar, they charge because they know you will pay it, same with the cost of iPhones, iPads etc.

I don't get all this music snobbery just fucking buy it or lose out, there's moaning when he doesn't release anything then when he does there's even more moaning when it's only on itunes.

shrug

It's not music snobbery, it's simply the market giving reasons why they dont want this product. One can't lose out by not buying a product that is of no interest.

One thing that is certainly unusual is that multiple online distribution channels are not being used, exclusivity whether on 3rdeyegirl.com, or itunes is simply creating a market barrier.

Fair enough, I don't use iTunes that much, only when I have to but if it's down to using a device other than a idevice as I've said before a right click (or the Mac alternative) will convert it to a MP3.

It was added to Amazon MP3 but it doesn't release to the public until May 28th?

I don't know what to make of this song. I like that it's something totally different for Prince, but I feel like it's kind of rudimentary alt-rock.

And lyrically, I just don't see what a girl playing guitar and misogynistic wall of sound have to do with "Fix your life up."

Only listened to the preview. Sounds terrible... in fact I didn't even get to the end of the preview.

This really is Prince's lowest point ever. There's nothing good about these songs. eek

iTunes Music store music files will play on Android without conversion of any kind. You just have to figure out how to get the song files ONTO your phone. I had a Samsung Moment (Android) phone and the songs worked perfect. The artwork is even on there.

They haven't had DRM on their files for like 4-5 years or so.

I bought the song. Again, great music but the lyrics seem generic and the vocal delivery lacks any kind of enthusiam whatsoever. It's barely album filler or B-side material.

I won't be playing this much, but - maybe it's a grower.

Can someone explain to me why all the youtube links for this song are taken down? What exactly is the point of flagging streams of songs that can help promote you? Counterproductive doesn 't even begin to describe this gestapo fuckery.

And what is tragic about all of this, I have no excitement to track this down. You think I am the only one? Think again. neutral

------ No you are not the only one that thinks that listening to the song on YOUTUBE a dozen or so times will actually make people by it. The problem is that music sales are low and have been the entire time YOUTUBE has been around. We have no proof that listening to music on YOUTUBE motivates consumers to purchase.

He is with a real record company and they did not sign him up to make zero profits. If you like it buy it and if you do not move on or wait for the entire project which is what I intend to do. P has a long history of picking the worst songs for singles while the real gems are buried on the disc.

Promotion for Prince is mostly using younger, good-looking women that can help promote him. We don't need to actually hear the new music or watch his videos on youtube or his weird websites that come and quickly go.

Since Prince is a dedicated musician/artist & a extremely high standard for quality & presentation, it is rather odd that he pushes out single artwork that looks like a myspace/facebook bar band would do who just started for the simple reason "To be cool"

If you look at something and you can tell right away how lazy it is, that is never a good sign. For someone who preaches mastery of musical craft & skill, I can't get over the fact that Prince likely knows his songs are lacking effort/energy & you have to wonder if this is another example of "protege deception", where he fools his acts into thinking they are getting the best he has to offer.

For anyone reading who is angered by these thoughts, consider this: How can a musicial legend instruct you to seek out REAL music? When what he turns in sounds & looks like it was produced 4th rate to be used for a clear channel station bumper music for tween mall rock in the midwest suburbs? One name comes to mind listening to L.O.L. : Avril Lavigne. If Prince is trying to get a teenage market it won't work, mall pop rock acts need to turn on the sex appeal.

The most obvious in this lazy attempted coup of perception is Prince's right hand man on the web : "Dr Funkenberry", who is about as single minded as a heavens gate recruit. I have no idea what 3rd Eye Girl is artistically capable of, but when you make something so formulaic you can taste the artificial forced ingredients, you've lost the war on perception. They aren't 13, they need to deliver something more charged than the material I've heard. Brutally speaking, you can't speak on the state of music if you are turning in subpar pandering uninspired riffs for a "targeted" demographic.

note: I don't know why my paragraph spaces aren't registering.

P has a long history of picking the worst songs for singles while the real gems are buried on the disc.

I think this is a bit of a myth. Occurences where Prince chose an obviously bad single were exceptions. For many albums, he chose fantastic singles (When Doves Cry, Kiss, Cream, The Most Beautiful Girl etc.). The only albums where he chose particularly awful singles were Emancipation and SOTT with If I Was....

The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

if Disney did rock it would sound like this. I originally liked it, there's some nice elements but his vocal sounds awful to me..the sound just doesn't get the bets out of his voice. Overall it's just another useless track that pales into total insignificance when compared to all the other great music out there. Real music, played by real musicians delivering crap songs alas.

Sorry, but a producer or honest associate would have looked him in the eye and said 'brother, make it a B-side or lock it in the vault'

I figured out my least favorite songs are the ones where Prince uses that voice that sounds like a ten year old girl correcting an adult or telling another child to behave.

After giving it a few spins, the song is in need of another verse to round out the tune. This seems to be a common thing with how Prince "structures" many of his tunes. They don't round out nicely. It's what frustrates me about some of his live 1 song performances...he doesn't develop them enough into anything that tells a real story. Hell, he didn't even sing the second verse of this track on Billboard Awards...the line about the girl with guitars instead of a band of boys was THE PERFECT opportunity to MAKE THIS POINT!!
