I think TGRES is kind of corny, but I actually do like it. But all the other 4 you mentioned, I love! I love Lemon Crush. Why should I not? Is there something wrong about it's lyrics that I missed? I think it's dancy and incredibly catchy. The keyboard line is infectious. And the vocals are great. The verses are kind of a cynic tone, which I love. Some of his slow jams are just so grating to me.
Friend, Lover, Sister, Wife is my most hated Prince song of all time. Can't stand it for a second. Let's Have a Baby is a close second. Planet Earth is just plodding and boring and rubs me the wrong way. Satisfied and On the Couch would probably round out the top five.
Better With Time is up there too.

Agreed!I like pretty much everything from 1977-1987 after that... I dislike most of it. It's the production sounds that turn me off.. along with the subject matter. Although I can probably find at least 1-2 things that i think are cool on each album (starting with Lovesexy) | |

It changes week to week but I really can't stand
1. Solo - Just self indulgence with cream, the singing could break glass
2. Da Da Da - Scrappy Doo's rapping is terrible and the song is just shit. No talent what so ever
3. The Flow - more self indulgent rapping/experiments and Tony M. All that what nigga man wants to play a guitar shit.
4. Graffiti Bridge - Cheese, cheese and boring vocals, like having a bag of sugar tipped down your throat.
5. Lemon crush - Ridiculously bad filler and nonsensical lyrics.

Jughead This holds a special place in the history of bad songs because it's the first truly bad song Prince released, imo. Sure, Ronnie Talk to Russia isn't a great song, but it has some redeemable features. Jughead, not so much. Grafitti Bridge Ok, ignore what I just said about Jughead. This is the first truly bad Prince song Purple & Gold This was a joke, right? The Rainbow Children Yes, people, lyrics matter. And this song has the most misogynistic lyrics of his career: "she in subduction to ..." Just nasty mean. If this song had no lyrics, it'd probably be in my top 20 Prince songs. That's how bad the lyrics are. We Gets Up Cheese, just too much cheese Songs on other people's lists that I think are great: Crazy You On the Couch This Is Not Music, This Is a Trip Annie Christian Girl * I can't be bothered to listen to New Powersoul again to choose bad songs from it so it very well could displace 2 or 3 of the songs on my list. Wow... how did "Crazy You" get listed? That song is a fucking masterpiece, and easily the best track on Prince's first two albums IMO.
As far as my least favorites:
"The Flow" -- the nadir of the Tony M stuff "Wedding Feast" -- just so incredibly goofy "Graffiti Bridge" -- super overblown and sappy sounding "Purple and Gold" -- same category as "Graffiti Bridge" "Strays of the World" -- same category as "Graffiti Bridge" and "Purple and Gold"
Not even sure what the 6th song would be for me... I mostly love Prince's music, which is why I'm on this forum. I'm even basically ok with "Jughead," although I agree D&P would be better without it. [Edited 4/1/13 23:51pm] | |

I really don't know why, because I like other songs in that genre (I love Adore, I like Insatiable, I really dig God Created Woman, and I many of the ballads on Emancipation are pretty good). But, when I hear International Lover, I want to stab somebody in the face. | |
