I didn't find no timing issues either. Some lame drum breaks yes, but at least she played better than at the Jimmy Fallon performance. She's not comparable to Michael Bland imo, that's like saying Kurt Cobain's guitar playing is as good as Jimi Hendrix. Anyway it's a nice little clip, very Led Zeppelin indeed! I might even show it to my non-prince friends

great,
but why posting such a short little clip??
What a tease.....
the rest of this performance is locked away, I guess, in the vaults...
to be released when Prince has died, and most of us are gone too.
Damn I am beginning to hate that vault, of his.. Prince 4Ever. |

Nice!
Love the video too! It's like the vids I did when friends were coming to play at my place "The public is wonderfully tolerant. It forgives everything except genius." O.Wilde |

From a guitarists' point of view there was only one thing wrong with that video... she moved away from Prince's hands. Bollocks.
Quite possibly the clearest video I've ever seen of the man playing. Any better and it could be on Lick Library. |

love the clip
Now if we could finally get Paladino Pleasure Ride rehearsal
the lyrics have got to be sick for this one, or just leave it as an instrumental

I like it a lot, but it's another tune that doesn't linger in your mind.
I wonder if Prince is capable of writing songs like Kiss, LIttle Red Corvette, etc... I don't mean stylistically writing those types of songs, but what I do mean is writing a song that sticks with you and the listener will easily remember. So far, the closest he's gotten is Screwdriver, and I would say that it's safe to say not everyone WANTS to remember that song. |

RnR and Screwdriver. Closest he's been to writing a pop song in years. Well RnR was as it had extensive UK airplay. Surprised that Screwdriver hasn't seen a UK radio release. Really surprised in fact. I mean, why bother going to the effort of multiple takes on a song and several videos if you're not going to release it? It baffles me, it really does. You make a product and then you don't market it!? Why bother at all if that's your intention?
As for the pop songs of yesteryear? No, they've gone. Really, really gone. |

Exactly. I love RnR (and think its best song in a long time, actually), but we're still a long ways off from the pop genius of yesteryear. |

Yeah Hannah may play different and not as authoritative as a good backbeat dserves but she's still a good drummer who should only get better working with P.
Also remember she's playing mostly Rock tracks so the funk isn't as necessary at least that's how I look at it. [Edited 3/14/13 12:53pm] |

I believe that IS a cover of Led Zeppelin's "The Ocean" minus Robert Plant, probably for Saturday night at SXSW festival. Hopefully he'll feel inspired enough by his own guitar smoke to produce similar used cigarettes that float in my beer. One can always dream.
It's very similar. I'd say it was the inspiration for it, but it's different enough to not be a cover.
it's a cover from a Donna Grantis song !!! It was released on her 2012 CD

i don't think they set out to fool anybody since it was mentioned in the dr funkenberry
spreecast that this song is written by donna.
the news came a couple of hours after the track was 'released'.
granted, if you don't search every nook and cranny of the internet, that info might've
slipped your radar
prince releases and especially the background info on them are so hard to keep track
of these days.

I don't think anyone's been fooled here. But a question: Can you really call it a cover when the writer is playing on the track? |

Looks great and sounds awesome! He's just the most fantastic guitar player! Makes it look so simple, man I'd be happy with just a tenth of his ability! Well done P! (The girls are cool too!) Interviewer: What's it like to be the greatest guitarist in the world?
