Also surprised by the mention of Grand Progression above. One of my fave unreleased songs.

reflection (the "it's a song about love" could make a decent chorus but instead prince will just ramble on nonsensically for the rest of the song((tribute to joni mitchells 'misses')) mix)

musicology (i remember that feeling too prince but not because of this song mix)

screwdriver (the and u thought he couldn't write a song worse than 'guitar' mix)

muse 2 tha pharoah (get ur bibles out and turn your vibrator on cuz that's what i wanna hear in a song mix)

rock n roll love affair (the please prince come out of the closet already so we don't have to hear this pathetic attempt to imply you are strait and in love with andy allo and also an attempt to make music so mediocre it pleases your homophobic jw friends)

gold (take your na na na na na na's and your oo eee ooo eee oo soundtrack to the wizard of oz music and market it alongside raffi to little kids and leave it off your prince record right next to a song about you raping carmen electra with a gavel ... jeesh mix)

tony m (the eye wish he were a song so eye could delete him once and be done with him mix)

there really aren't that many prince songs that i actually dislike so much

that i can't listen to them. well not many up until 1996 anyway

let's see, even a top 5 is a little bit difficult to come up with:

jughead

i don't think that needs any particular explanation. there was more shit on that album,

but even stuff like "push" had some redeeming qualities or nice moments. juhead tho,

was just painful start to finish.

planet earth

something about this song just rubs me the wrong way, very very badly. and then it

goes into that 'could it be magic' bridge and i just have to hit skip. admitting, i did sit

through it 2 or 3 times but i'd probably listen to jughead again before dusting this off

ever again.

grafitty bridge

it's not horrible, but it's not good either. it just sounds silly and like something that you

might hear at a ride in disney world. way over the top, sugar coated kitsch. what made

it doubly horrible for me was the fact that he'd been kicking around the idea for this

whole movie for so long and THIS is the title track? i think it's the first ever prince tune

that actually made me go "oh my god, i hate a prince track!"

the life of the party

made me shudder the first time i heard it. listening to the musicology album for the

first time, once we'd gone past "illusion, coma, pimp and circumstance" (which isn't

a very good song either) i thought "oh well, at least he's got the goofy hip hop song

out of his system now so the rest of the album won't bore us with that anymore. Oh

boy, what a mistake wasn't this a bit after timbaland dissed prince and saying

stuff like prince couldn't make good beats anymore (where are you now tho Tim?)?

sounds to me like prince trying to hard to beat timaland at his own game and coming

up short, miserably short. horrible lyrics, horrible hook, horrible everything.

chelsea rodgers

not really a terrible song, although i don't care for it really. but what irritated me the

most about this is that prince wasn't on lead vocals. people claim they can hear him

and he shares the lead with shelby. fine. but i don't hear enough prince. i just hear

shelby. which would be fine, on a shelby album. but prince showcasing people on an

album of his own has always been a grey area. it's cool when they do a verse or do

a rap like cat on alphabet st or tamar on beautiful loved and blessed. but to halt the

flow of a prince album by having someone else on lead for an entire song just feels

wrong to me. and now that i'm thinking about it again, i actually do think that it's a

horrid song. people kept calling it the second coming of funk or something when it

was released but it just sounds stale to me and like something he did seven hundred

times before, each of them better. compared to prince's 80s funk, especially the 81

through 84 funk, this is simply a motr tribute band watered down snooze fest to me.

and those, i think, are the only 5 prince tracks that i absolutely cannot listen to at all.

there are a handfull of songs that i don't like but don't skip when they turn up simply

because they fit their albums very well (delerious, wedding feast, incense & candles)

but true dislike bordering on hate is reserved for the 5 mentioned above

and that's not a bad score, out of, what, 800 songs or so well done prince, well

done indeed.

Rave un2 the Joy Fantastic- The vocals on this song are terrible, wats up with the weird noises. Just terrible.

Box of Chocalate- Oh man is this song corny. I think this song should show Prince that the Drum Machine should have stayed in the 80s.

Guitar- I don't think i'd hate this song as much if it wasn't released as a single but after hearing it so much i just can't its once again to cheeasie.

Annie Christian- idk i just can't get into this song and not a fan of the vocals

Music video Screwdriver- Terrible take a lap

oh adding one more

Shoo bee doop- just the name of it and it gets kinda annoying. One of the worse songs on the album.

4 Tears in ur heart- Terrible take another lap.

Lol guys i like jughead only the rosie rap kills it. And Dead on it is great if there was no prince vocals on it just funky backing. Dolphin is a strange song but i actually like it its one of those songs u either feel or don't and u can' thtink about it u either feel or don't and i feel. Chelsea rodgers is great to me but i can understand that somebody might feel the song is fake and the subject/lyrics of the song are weird.

REally. Have u heard the full versions of u got the look and party man? Morning papers is a sweet song to me but i can see how somebody would hate it. Greatest romance is one of the most overated songs and people just say its good because they wanna be like oh rave had one good song haha. Othen than the chorus that song sucks.

There is no "Extended Version" of Alphabet St. There is the edited single version, the album version and "This Is Not Music, This Is A Trip."

I don't think its stupid. Its get u thinking. I used to hate songs like Batdance and now i like them so its good for me to think about how i've changed and one of these is okay ever now and then. THe only one i refuse to do is wats ur favorite prince song.

Prince songs you love. If you went to a show and he did one of those songs you hate live I bet you'd think think differently afterwards. I don't want to be cross, but of all the different styles he does, you can't expect everyone to tickle your funny bones.

I just can't imagine loving Purple and Gold live lol. Prince is far from perfect even though he's my favorite artist. Id say his batting percentage (out of all the songs he's released the songs i like) he's a top 5 in my favorites but not number one which is led zeppelin who i like about 85 percent of there songs. Prince is around 70. I think u have to hate Some prince stuff to truley love the dude. ANd ur right there is so much i love which is why im able to make this list and laugh.

Prince would ever play Purple and Gold in concert. That was just on one off thing meant for

one football game, not ever to be played again. I guess my second favorite would be The

Beatles and they have a few I don't care to hear again so I get where you're going. It's all

good. There are some Prince songs I just won't listen to and most are from the Rave album

and Diamonds and Pearls along with some unreleased stuff, which I reckon why he didn't release them.
