'Down' : excellent, timeless, only Prince can write a song with such a strong simple melody like this. Nice bass, great vocals, nice violins (synth?). Classic, & super !

'Ain't Gon' Miss U' : funky cool, (what's with the female sample?), not such a strong melody though, but need to hear it more (often), "I bet you think this song's, song's about you" (Carly Simon reference?). I hope this has a long extended version I think Prince really can get down 'n dirty funky on a song like this. 8min version at least please..

'2 Young 2 Dare' : poppy cool but horns on repeat, cool organ & flute, Shelby 'n the girls do predictale background vox, need to hear it some more actually. Maybe it can grow.

'Check The Record' : is (far) more interesting I think. cool drums, interesting lyrics, nice chords, funky Ida bass solo. Would love to hear the studio version. This song has a 'The Revolution' feel to me. I'm expecting Wendy & Lisa to pop in any time. Nice guitar solo too..

Mostly of Prince's recents writings are becomming a bit predictable in their structure.

Like they all got the same 'verse-verse-chorus-verse-etc' structures..

You can't always make every song interesting by playing safe on 'repeat'.

And where's the funky fun ?

Like those ear dripping unexpected cool sounds which made you listen over and over again.

These odd splendid little inbetweenies ?

Can anyone at least discuss where it came from, and where the Part 1 Thread is? Most of the leaks were Prince disguising them as a 3rd party, or to pun, a 3rd eye, pretending he did not allow them although we all know he did. So I guess instead of telling me where to find....can anyone even hint at ...oh forget it!

2 Young 2 Dare is good but it still feels like a lesser cousin of a better song in the same vein that Prince could've pulled off 20 years ago. That can of course be said for a lot of his music the past 20 or so years. Down is rather mediocre. The lyrics are interesting and serious and in order to emphasize them the music has to sound important, but instead sound rather unimportant. Ain't Gon' Miss U is crap. It's simple, boring and badly arranged. Fortunately he rarely puts out music as bad as this one.

Finally heard them..bout damn time.

Down is pretty good! Could have fit just fine on Lotus Flow3r. Actually couple be the best out of the three tbh.
