Spreecast recap? Can anyone who watched the Doc's spreecast last night offer a recap of any news that might have been shared? Looks like he hinted a DVD beforehand. Did he say anything concrete?

Yeah he talked about a different DVD for each of his 2013 performances(if the proper deal can be made). Nothing about the 2009 one. Also "That Girl Thang" was written, recorded, and uploaded all on last Sunday. No news of what/when Live Out Loud will be about/released... [Edited 2/21/13 13:04pm]

"Live Out Loud" (the song and the video) will be made available on 3rdEyeGirl.com "before the end of February" (My educated guess is they will show up this coming weekend).
Doc also said there are 3 versions of "Boyfriend," and the one for sale on the site is version #2. ā€ˇhttps://www.youtube.com/@PurpleKnightsPodcast

Version #2 of 4 and considered for a proposed compilation album. What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

I think that's pretty bizarre that Boyfriend was considered for a "proposed compilation album" per Dr. FB. He then goes on to say "What kind of compilation album? We're not sure."
Hmmm.. the more I think about it, the only kind of "compilation" album that I can think of is a soundtrack album. Remember all the articles about Prince contributing a song to the upcoming "The Great Gatsby" movie? I wonder if this could be it, and possibly it was rejected for inclusion? No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

from the vault
Blogger Dr. Funkenberry, reported in an online video chat that the song was written and recorded about six hours before its release; since the song was available in the early morning of 18 February, 2013, this places the recording on the evening of 17 February, 2013 I will take my place, In the great below

strange on spreecast ravein2 complications with Montreux to release something that quick. Usually take some years! so why not bypass Montreux and film a concert for blu-ray or just release one already recorded. Complications with Montreux may stop the release of Prince bluray unless a deal can be made? Pittypittyiaintlifesilllyputty What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

ask funkenberry and he would likely ask Prince. Maybe an answer? What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

He has hudreds of recorded performances. Any one of them could be released quickly and efficiently. "Climb in my fur."

I like the way how he is trowing out songs for them who want to listen.
And maybe in the course of the year, and after back-and-forth playing with the songs, an album will come out.
Or maybe, people will explore the possibilities of getting their music digital.
To me it seems an open ended story. Still can go everywhere. Just go with the flow.

I think it's a good deal to do some business digital. I like it that he can release something he recorded fast and direct. With many of his projects by the time they were released he seemed to have little interested in promoting. Hopefully, if he can write/record/release something still fresh he will be feeling it still. I also liked the idea of artist guaging songs and then putting together an album from what fans like but who knows is Prince would ever go about operations that way? What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

what's the latest on that project anyway? is the soundtrack completed yet? and is prince still going to be on it?
don't get me wrong, i think "boyfriend" is a really cool song but i would be kind of sad if this is all prince could come up with, being inspired by "the great gatsby"
i'm still hoping he will have a track on that soundtrack since i'm curious to see what he could do with a song in relation to that book.

I never thought about that.
I'm the same, if something is finished, I don't want to deal with it a year later.
This way he can produce at his pace.
And that's a fast pace.
And if he later on wants to work on a song, he can, and publish it as version 2.
After a while, there will be wide range of music material, so there will be a song for everybody's liking.
I do think the big audiance needs a website that called Prince. Only fanatics go puzzling for 3rde eye girl.
Or maybe he can publish the best selling songs on a Prince site. 3rd Eye Girl site becomes a filter for his songs. The songs that are most liked, hence, bought can go to the big site.
Just an idea.
Meantime I'm still waiting for an e-mail from 3rd Eye Girl.
I want to know that girl thang
