Anything from 1976-1990 pre For U - Batman era I'm glad was revealed

That was just a pure time, and a period where information wasn't so easily exposed

So even hearing some of the stuff that I don't really love, gives me a peak into the 'Behind the Scenes' of what was going on in Prince's camp

A few that I'm glad to have heard (whether unofficially released or Prince released:something in the vault rel at a later time not on an 'official' album)

Leaving 4 New York

Broken

Tick Tick Bang

Honestly (and I am not saying that it's a worse song than "Work the P") I've never understood the love for "Moonbeam Levels." It's not bad, but it doesn't make me grin ear to ear like, say, "God Is Alive."

GTFO! stab

highfive I feel the same...Moonbeam Levels is WAY overrated.

that doesn't mean it's not good

It's an average track at best...a bit boring, actually. I'd listen to it if it popped up on a random playlist, but it's not a song I actively seek when I'm in the mood for good outtakes.

Of course it really is up to everyones likes & dislikes, I don't listen to it often either, but I like it

I mean we have a lot of average released tracks by Prince as well,

This is one I would prefer being heard because he did perform it on the 1999 tour

I'm a little shocked that anyone could think Moonbeam Levels is overrated or 'average'.......it's probably one of his top 10 ever works I would say. I'd be interested to see what those same people would say is their favourite Prince track.

Old Friends > He perfomed this live??? Wow would love to have heard that....

^ Wow thanks. I sometimes wish he didn't get the Batman deal (or at least not just THEN!) just so that the original Rave album would have been released, the songs on that (that i've heard) are amazing...

1. The Voice Inside (5:09) Unreleased. Intended for the unreleased 1988 version of the Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic album, segued into "Melody Cool."

2. Melody Cool The original 1987 version also featured some lyrical differences, and the song was sung from a third-person perspective ("they call her Melody Cool"). This original version was included as the eighth track on a 25 September, 1988 configuration of Graffiti Bridge. It was also included on a configuration of the Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic album, dated 27 October, 1988 (segueing from The Voice Inside), but was removed for the late 1988 - early 1989 configuration.

3. Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic (5:20) Alternate version. Contains some musical differences near the end. Prince assembled an album in late 1988 with this as the title song, but he abandoned the project when he started work on the Batman album. He offered the song for use in the Batman film, but it was rejected. It was eventually released in 1999 as the title track of the Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic album.

4. God Is Alive [#1] (6:20) Unreleased. Includes vocals by Prince and Mavis Staples.
God Is Alive [#2] (2:35) Unreleased. This is the end portion of the song, but without the guitar solos of version #1.

5. If I Had A Harem (2:16) Unreleased. Quite different from the song Prince played during the Lovesexy tour. Intended for the unreleased version of the Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic album assembled in 1988.

6. Stimulation Stimulation is an unreleased song recorded on 8 September, 1987, at Paisley Park Studios. The track was mentioned in the 22 September, 1987 script for Graffiti Bridge, and was included as the second track on the 25 September, 1988 configuration of the Graffiti Bridge album. The track was remixed on 6 October, 1988, however (the same day as recording Elephants & Flowers and Still Would Stand All Time), and was included on the 27 November, 1988 configuration of the Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic album (along with Melody Cool and God Is Alive, also from Graffiti Bridge).

7. Still Would Stand All Time Initial tracking took place on 6 October, 1988 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA (during two days off from the Lovesexy Tour, between shows in Toronto, ON, Canada and Hampton, VA, USA, on the same day as Still Would Stand All Time). This version contained different verses than the released version, but contains the same chorus. It was initially included on a configuration of the Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic album, dated 27 October, 1988, but was removed for the late 1988 - early 1989 configuration.

8. Elephants And Flowers Initial tracking took place on 6 October, 1988 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA (during two days off from the Lovesexy Tour, between shows in Toronto, ON, Canada and Hampton, VA, USA, on the same day as Still Would Stand All Time). This version contained different verses than the released version, but contains the same chorus. It was initially included on a configuration of the Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic album, dated 27 October, 1988, but was removed for the late 1988 - early 1989 configuration.

9. Big House Big House is an unreleased track, thought to have been recorded in Summer - Autumn 1988, at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA. It was mixed on 4 October, 1988. The song includes the line "I hope God lives in a big house cause I'm bringing all my friends with me." It was included on a 27 October, 1988 configuration of the Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic album, which was later abandoned. The song remains unreleased.

10. We Got The Power [#1] (3:32) Unreleased. Some of the chorus to this song were later used in "Batdance" and in Carmen Electra's unreleased "Power From Above." This song has also been called "Dance With Power" by some sources. Intended for the 1988 version of the Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic album, and considered for the Batman soundtrack.
We Got The Power [#2] (0:36) Unreleased. This portion of the song was synched to footage in an early unreleased trailer for the Batman film.

Thanx OldFriends...to quote the girl in Daddy Pop (Diamond or Pearl?)....'oh....you're the BEST'

I wonder what those different verses were....this song is so spiritual I love it, probably my favourite of all of his I think.
