I was there, and when I looked around and saw the look of 'awe', on the audiences' faces, during that performance, it was almost as if Prince put them in a trance and they forgot to blink. [Edited 2/9/13 14:43pm]

That's awesome. I have never been to a concert, EVER, cause I can't afford it. Boy I wish I could one day go to one of his shows. I could die happily, (no pun intended)

Love this one! Starts off with the guitar refrain from "The Question of U", then there's a quiet breakdown and it turns into Gingerbread Man.
"I'm looking for Ginger, I'm tired, tired of Maryann/ If U can hear me, holler as loud as you can" and the audience erupts in the affirmitave. Also, a pair of great little guitar solos.

Just saw this for the first time. So if I understand correctly, the Gingerbread Man can only be caught by being dissolved in the juices from the pussies he makes wet?

oh yeah I was there and oh yeah he had MSG eating out of his hand!! I also feel that he really nailed it that night, really taking his time with it, doing all of the verses, the guitar solos. The other couple of times he performed it didn't really hit the mark in comparison IMO. "Hyperactive when I was small, Hyperactive now I'm grown, Hyperactive 'till I'm dead and gone"

I've seen it, and it was NOTHING special....at all.
I'm amazed at how low the bar has fallen these days/years for Prince to still be talked about like he's still on some otherworldly shit.
If ANYONE else was doing this shit back in Prince's genius years, you all would say how much better Prince is than his contemporaries and how they're all shit and boring. Or, if any other artist TODAY was doing something like this, you all would talk much shit about them and the industry in general.
But when it's Prince putting out the utter shit, "Oh, this jam is ROCKIN' (because it's got a guitar in it)!!! It's a 'masterpiece'! Who else but Prince could do something like this?? I've gotta go on YouTube and record a dumb video of me just talking about it because people out there just have to know about his GENIUS!!!!!"
Where have all the REAL Prince fans gone? Maybe they went where the old Prince went...exit stage left years ago. The only one I still see around here is Bart, who's also not blinded by the "purple aura" to be able to see the forest for the trees.
Oy, I've GOT to start a thread about some of his REAL music...

Oy, I've GOT to start a thread about some of his REAL music... i agree that Prince is releasing substandard material but to say that the only real fan is Bart os a bit of a strech.

I'm a real fan as well. I remember that Gingerbread Man song at the MSG show. It's interesting to be at a concert and look around and see tons of newbies and casual fans. I think most people didn't really know what he was singing, but it came off like a real song and it was kinda funny. But yeah, nothing really special. I hope one day he goes back to playing new stuff live at smaller shows. But for now I guess we will just have to get used to "Mr. Purple Rain Man" shows at huge arenas.
