The Gold Experience Vinyl sealed should I open it??

I've just picked this up for €10 off a guy who was selling up his record stall stock. Couldnt belive my luck. My question is this; do I open and enjoy or keep it sealed in all its glory. Please help me...

Depends why you bought it. If you bought it with an eye toward its future value, keep it sealed. If you bought it to listen to, open it. shrug

I always heard that it is best to carefully slice open theplastic at end where the cover opens, but leave the clear plastic on the cover. This is because the plastic may shrink over time and bend the corners of the cover. This way you get to enjoy the vinyl as well. If your planning to sell the record before this potential damage happens, then keep the record sealed.

That's a long-time deleted album. Look for it on cd and keep that vinyl in a safe palce.

u can look at it a few ways. If u want the value, don;'t open it and just buy the cd or listen to it online. But if u have no intention of selling it listen to it because thats the way Prince wanted u to listen to it on vinyl. Btw is the gold experience vinyl really worth that much though?

Don't unseal the vynil.

We may never get to see Gold in that configuration again.

Do go get the CD though.

Hmm, I had a sealed copy of Mario 64 about 15 years ago. Foolishly sold it on. It's about 5 times the price of a mint condition unsealed one now. A sealed album or cd? Keep it that way. I have New Power Soul, Rave (with Obi strip), Lotus and Rainbow all sealed. I bought second versions to play. But then I like to collect things. We live in an age where many people are so pampered that they can and do. Museums of the future will no doubt have beautiful collections.

Pretty much word for word what I was going to say.

There are people looking for it, so if you want to make more money, don't open it. If you think you're going to keep it for yourself, even if just for the forseeable future, open it and give it a spin.

I say open it. I listened once to the limited edition gold vinyl and one thing I noticed was that audio doesn't hit the sound ceiling like on the cd. I really liked it made a sound file to my computer. It sounds like all the songs breath better on vinyl

So, did u open it and listen?

Anyhow I have a Gold Experience related question, and was shy to start my own topic - have tried the google at the top, and found songs/original configurations of TGE but in these days if iPod playlists etc does anyone have a playlist of say, TGE Deluxe, including "Days Of Wild", "Ripopgodazzipa", "Interactive", "Hide The Bone", "Acknowledge Me" - alongside the released tracks.

What order do they come in? Do u keep the segues. Will share mine once I've got it together. Would u include songs from Come that may have been considered? Peace, Mike Gee
