Prediction - the 3rd Eye Gigs will be available to buy

How good would it be if the new shows went up as downloads on 3rd Eye Girl website?
If this actually happened I would guess it would be a mix of select tracks from the early and late shows.

Bootlegs for days?? For a price?

The Red Hot Chili Peppers did this for each show on their last tour. The soundboard audio for the shows were available immediately and cost $10.

Everyone who posts on this should quote the previous person and we'll see how big we can make this. I would say this kind of wishful thinking is where people get their little feelings hurt when it comes to Prince. He's never going to do anything anyone else wants him to do. In fact, if someone wants him to do something, that's reason enough for him not to do it. Sometimes that's a good thing, because you just don't know what to expect from the guy. But I too wish he would make more music accessible. This year started off very promising but has lately slowed.. I hope it will pick up again and he doesn't just get bored and no longer want to release the music. It's an endless cycle.

More likely that we'll just get a few scraps - a couple of 2 minute snippets with overdubs and a mysterious outro proclaiming "something big is coming!" or the like wink

I'd be happy enough with any verson of Montreux getting an offical release (either the old show or the upcoming one)

The set I have is official. Just as good as if Princ ehimself did..oh wait,....no these are three full shows, prisitne quality, professional cam set up AND NO WACK EDITING

this is good as WB putting them out

Id tell the op to keep searching his indie record stores..I mean I knw theyre online but I prefer physical copies myself

plus its real nice how J and them teased about the Montreux shows being released

as if they cant throw them up there for the folks who been down since forever and havent had a chance to see or get the shows

see its all a tease..even the folks who claim to be down for the fans

all cockteasers...or more 'look wjat we have and u dont'

Prince is against this. He has said repeatedly in interviews that the shows are for the people there and their memories. He is against sharing those memories with people who were not there. Its not happenin!! Do we really want to hear these anyway? That Dakota show with this band is just horrid!! I the songs they did are my favorites but this band just plain sucks!! I dont really want to hear them anymore. Donna is doing most of the guitar playing and its just hard to listen to as it sounds like a beginner player. She misses a lot of notes. Hannah....well at least she looks halfway decent. Thats about all I can say about her. I like the bass player alright. No complaints on her. And Prince, he is just lost it seems like. Its just not good right now.

Dude, what aren't you getting here: they are proshot recordings, done by the same in hours team that records all Montreux gigs, but there has NOT been an official, authorized release. You can't get them at Amazon, and no one affiliated with the fest or Prince is getting any money from them. They are bootlegs.

(That said, I said, I downloaded a copy myself, and they're awesome, but they aren't legit releases.)

i guess what i'm not getting is this: why do you even care if it is "legitimately" released? Prince would screw it up somehow and you'd still watch and listen to what you have already. Be glad you have what you do. in all likelihood, that's all you're getting.

And what you arent getting here is that it was teased which is wrong to do ad that it could and should be available to the fans..all of them, not just the ones who know about it but to those who dont know where to get it etc and such.

Stop telling me shit such as "what Im not gettting" ...I know its not really offical..geezus! You cant see me clwoning how its a top notch profesional perfect piece and thats why of course its not been released by Prince yet something like the crappily edited Aladdin show is? And how Montreux is ready to go and all it takes is a 'yes' from him?

Dude, Im not stupid as you suggest with that 'what youre not getting' comments. Knock that shit off.

It's not my fault you're coming off stupid. Have you read some of your posts lately? :-D

But how is it wrong to advertise a release? I know it's not likely, but we could wake up tomorrow with DVDs for sale. We don't have any way of knowing what the plan is.

And let's not get into what Prince should or shouldn't do. I want this stuff just as much as you do, but our desires are not moral imperatives.
