Not a fan of either but both have OK moments... 'Dance 4 Me', 'Walk In Sand', 'Sticky Like Glue'... the rest is pretty awful compared to the rest of his work. 3121... Don't U Wanna Come?

I don't dislike either one.
I do have a problem recognizing MPLSound as an album of its own though. It's much more like a bonus disc to the Lotusflow3r album to me. While I could have seen Prince having the guts to release Lotusflow3r as a single disc release, MPLSound really doesn't come off that way.

I like both. Me too. Some of my current favorite Prince songs from both 20Ten and MPLSound such as Sticky Like Glue, Valentina, Laydown, Old School Company, Lavaux, Dance 4 Me, Ur Gonna C Me, Act of God, No More Candy 4 U...I even really like There Will Never B Another Like Me. LotusFlo3r/MPLSound and 20Ten makes a great trilogy album set for me just like Musicology, 3121 and Planet Earth did. Dad. Cartoonist. Illustrator. TOPPS Star Wars and Walking Dead Illustrator. "20Ten" was decent except for that shit hop disgrace "Laydown". As for "MPLShit", the majority of it was horrible. It was hyped as a return to the old sound but it was far from it. It sounded like he tried to rehash the old sound but added modern and shit hop elements to almost every song and even a hint of modern is horrible. Andy is a four letter word.

my personal problem with all the albums after N.E.W.S. is that Prince is trying to pretend to be a 20 years old musician. Pop songs 'like in '80'. But with less fun, less pheromone, less voice. After some more mature works like Xpetation, N.E.W.S., TRC, ONA, Prince decided that being old is not a good idea and photoshop his face and his music. MPLSound and 20ten are nice album, but sounds false to me and being boring after a while becouse there is a so little part of real/strange/experimental music. There is so little "soul" (not the soul music, the other soul).
Yesterday I buyed the last David Bowie single: I feel a voice, a sound and a song of a old man singing as a old man. I feel sadness and hope inside the music. And it is only a pop song. I can not find nothing similar in a Prince song, lately.
(sorry for my bad english)

Well put. With both Prince and Bowie putting new material out at the same time, it is striking how 'deep'/ meaningful Bowie's new song is, while how shallow/ trying to sound/ look younger than his age Prince's recent stuff is, even though most of it is quite good.
Admittedly, Prince is only 54, while Bowie is 66, but imo there has been a lack of emotional honesty/ directness in Prince's songs over the last 10 years, and he perhaps needs to stop chasing hits and go back to being a true 'artist', as he arguably was between 2001-03 and again on Lotusflower. P don't need to be so commercial all the time; when he does, it's often his shallowest/ worst modern work, sounding like weak faked-up rehashes of the '80s.
