Great. New music. Thanks. But what's with the poor bitrate? Really, put this stuff up in decent quality Prince.
cheers. | |

Oh Marrk, we've been here before surely? You know the reasons. What would be nicer is if this YouTube channel was permanent , negating the "need" to grab em while we can. Just somewhere in the middle,

What with the "bootlegs for days" thing, I think this is being done in a similar vibe to the crappy editing on Crystal Ball.

Yeah, but it doesn't cost anything extra to put it out in better quality.
The problem with many of Prince's "Internet only" releases is that there just doesn't exist versions of those tracks with proper sound quality.

That's the ones he should be SELLING through his own site, itunes et al and use the rest to promote as much as possible on youtube et al.

it would be nice indeed if you could listen to the tracks on youtube but then click on a link where you could actually buy the song in high quality mp3 or flac or whatever.
i'd have given him $ 4.- for this nice little bundle of new stuff and i'm sure a lot of others would have too.
but hey, it's free and it's a gift so i can't complain.
but i do understand the argument. we're not complaining that it's free. we just want the option to buy it, in top quality. nothing wrong with that.
here's to hoping that this is all just promo to get word out there that he is up to something and when 2013 really kicks off he'll have a bit of a decent site to download everything he's gonna nudge our way this year.

other tracks we've 'had' for a while but which i'd still love to be able to buy decent copies of (without dj intro and jingles)
cause and effect hot summer in a large room with no light rich friends turn me loose
i know some smart ass is gonna yell "well i wouldn't even want those for free, they're garbage"
but that's an invalid point. you wouldn't have to buy it if you didn't like it. but i certainly would like to. it can't be that hard for him to set up a bit of a store.
i want my new prince music in my car, and i don't want to strat up all kinds of audiograbbing apps and try to rip the tunes from a website in low bitrate when it would be more easy to just pay a dollar or 2 and download it official with good sound.
there's too many songs in recent years that don't have a home at all. they just appeared and fizzled out before an audience could even prick up it's ears.

Yep. All the NPGMC stuff.
People missed my semi-disclaimer, and my thanks.
But yeah, take it as moaning. Whatever. [Edited 1/8/13 11:52am]
