the everlasting now on the cd kicked major arse.on the jay leno show, he performed this single to promote the box in which at the end of the song, leno gave him the godly bow.
all of the piano and voice moments were great.his voice sounded better than ever on the cd.no machines, all done live.

Yep, I agree. It's a great set. The band is so tight.

I'm glad you brought this album up, "Oneken"!!

Hey man, don't you think it's interesting that this album's been out for only 3 months or so, and no-one is really talking about it?

That's really interesting! "Chaos and Disorder", "Newpower Soul", and "The Black Album" are gettin' more conversation...

It's like "One Nite Alone Live!", didn't really make much of an impact or really blow people away. Are people on the side of being just a "little bit disappointed"? Like, they hoped and hoped for a Live album forever and when they finally got it, realized aside from a few arrangements and notes here & there, it's "been there, done that"??

Like it's a "nice document to have an' all", but it's not exciting like getting a "real" new album, with new grooves ?

I kind of think that any box set under 4-discs is masturbation.Nice, box, nice glossy booklet & photos, and all. But any box set should have at least 4 discs, otherwise, just put it in a "Crystal Ball" style jewel case. The packaging for "ONA LIVE" is what I always wanted to see for a Prince box, but for what I ultimately get music-wise, it's a bit much- it's masturbation!, dig?

Prince is definitely giving himself somer tongue with all the praise in the booklet! But half the songs that are praised in the soundchecks, and aftershows DON'T EVEN APPEAR ON THE BOX SET! "Power Fantastic"? "The Ride"?"Bambi"?"Paisley Park"? That makes me think, "Why didn't you put them on the discs if you're gonna gloss them in the linernotes, mate?

Plus, It seems that a lot of prople bought bootlegs of the tour that are better than the box set. Huh. And if you saw the tour, you can't help but think of all the funky covers that propelled the show, and have been snipped out. It kind of makes the 1st disc slower, more labored, catch my drift?

I think I'll revisit ONA LIVE! some day, but I've kind of been re-discovering "Lovesexy", thanks to all the praise I've noticed on this site.

Sometimes I just want to worship to you and all your wisdom. You are almost always dead on with your opinions. BTW you are right ONA-live is just okay.

The problem with box is not that it is not great its that a great percentage of the people on this site are collectors of boots or have downloaded much live prince from the internet. So the impact of the box is muted. I myself love the box but i rarely listen to it. So much other prince to listen too. I know i'll revisit it in the years to come. We all will appreciate it more as the years roll by.

The ONA Box Set... roseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroseroserose

rose#1 It is truly a "high value box sex" due to the fact that the packaging is exceptional in all of it's manifold.

roserose#2 Most Sets only have TWO CD's, this box sex has everything but the Kitchen sink...

roseroserose#3 AND ever notice most artists never put "NEW" material in their "SETS" usually they are the BEST OF, or the classic sets or the generated, what they played on the radio only sets...this BOX has the "scent of "free" 2 it"".

roserose#4 The photographs are absolutely beautiful and have many (coded) ditties in it...all U have to do is Look very close at what normally would not be a "normal" picture and sit back and stare, with a relaxed spirit and things will pop out at u.

rose#1 CUZ this is truly what it is about, the "heart" of the set, being the musicians are all OUTSTANDING and multi award winning musicians...I can go in depth about each musician but I won't do it at this time...Perhaps, in the "near future I will become the worlds most "honest" and BOLD critic that does not bash but truly shows the high qualities of what a performance is" w/ all of the Musicians He has worked with including and not limiting to ONA Musicians) for those who think Im kissn BUTT kiss this rose thank u. now laugh.

And on a VERY SERIOUS NOTE (addendum), which is rare for me...is...This Box SET CD is highly "intoxicating to the spirit"...becuz it allows U (yes U) to become it's soul spirit 2.

The first CD and the first four songs on the second are phenomenal.

The rest of the second CD and most of the third aren't really my cup of tea, but it's still good. Joy in Repetition and Dorothy Parker of course are great.

I love everything about it. The packaging, the photos, the music -- all fabulous!

I gotta work on "relaxing my spirit" though cuz I just can't find any hidden ditties in those photos yet - darn! But I'll keep trying -- it's fun!

I agree with both of you guys. It's just okay. Waiting for it in the mail was actually better than getting it and listening to it. It probably would have had more appeal if I hadn't attended two shows. I got mine through the club. I consider the copy I got to be free. It's great to have a live recording of Joy and Repetition and Adore. If I had went to the store and bought this retail, I would really be pissed off.
