I'm not going to get too excited. There's been no 10, 20, 25 or 30 year remasters, so I won't be holding my breath. It would be nice and there's plenty that could be done but until it appears I'll just get along with everything else .

yes, but the reason (as clearly stated above) that there were no 10,20,30 year remasters was because he only gets them back starting with For You later THIS YEAR. So it is very probable that remasters will start this year. But of course this is Prince, so we need to reign back the excitement until it happens!

if he does they wont be remastered as we know them - lyrics (or possible full songs) are bound to be omitted!!! especially when we get to Bambi on Prince and Sister/Head on Dirty Mind

There could be yearly remasters of all his WB albums, including sets of live material and b-sides/outtakes/vault material. That would be wonderful and do his work justice.

A proper web presence and decent website(s) where you can simply download and/or order all his stuff would too.

I hope Prince has everything covered and arranged for, that no lawsuits will be needed and that the music may finally become available in abundance with no strings attached.

But untill that all actually materialises, I am not getting my hopes up. Nevertheless, it's going to be exciting to see what happens in 2013.

Time is trick to him.

So I will not count on remasters. (think of the urge to rerecord certain songs due to lyrics...)

With all due respect, but I would much rather have new music coming out.

I own if not all then most of his output on vinyl (and yes, I still use a good record player) and CD as well. The improvements in sound quality must be be really significant in order for me to splash out again...

If we do get remasters, I would love to have some of the bootlegs/unreleased songs remastered - then we would have a great improvement in sound quality ;=)

So, much rather a new tripple CD with new stuff / unreleased stuff or some high quality concerts. Or a cool streaming service Napster goes Purple, with all the side projects/associated artists/remixes/live versions...

I think all we are getting is a new cd with 10-12 songs. Keep in mind Prince's head is way up in the clouds nowadays and in his eyes him giving us a cd a "BIG" in his eyes. Our version of "BIG" and his idea of "BIG" are completely different ends of the spectrum. I am not holding my breathe for remasters as like others have said he will delete songs or alter lyrics which will ruin it
