I haven't listened to it since I bought it - but... played North and East last night during Christmas festivities and someone asked "who was that?" Again, there are way too many people out there that have never gone past Purple Rain. Safe to say, with all His censorship, Prince is the worst PR man in the biz. He's missing out on million$.

Can't get in to West or South.

I don't listen to it often(probably about a month ago I had it on repeat for a few hours) but have always liked it. I have to be in that instrumental mood.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

I never understood why this was released on cd and the much better Xpectation was just available as a donwload.

Gotta jump in and pledge my support for this album. I always appreciate a bold move from Prince, even when it doesn't quite work... but this one works very well, in my opinion.

Also, it's a great album to shag to! biggrin

I've been enjoying N.E.W.S. a lot Lately, Specially North and East... But you can't compare N.E.W.S With 1999 or SOTT... So this whole thread has to be a Joke.

This album is best when played at pretty high volume on a good set of hifi speakers. If you sit down and enjoy it for what it is, and not for what it isn't, then you might have a good experience. I personally enjoy it, although I'd probably get more from listening to a Miles Davis album.

My favorite track is the long one. lol

Seriously, I enjoy the album on long drives at night for some reason.

The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/
