The Love We Make

Wow...just came across this song here at work (got all of my P collection on "shuffle"). I hadn't given this track a listen in a long, long time.

One of my favorite songs, it´s really deep and makes you think about things in life. The lyrics are one of his best!

Highly underrated...

What a stunning song, massively underrated. I am surprised that he has not played this live yet, imagine this and still would stand all time played together in the same set.

Hi Javed...and yes, The Love We Make would have fit in perfectly during the ONA tour. It's just the right message. His vocals throughout this song are great!

Probably one of his best and really spiritually one of the strongest...

This song is so beautiful it makes me cry. cry

I used to have it on a screen saver and everyone would ask what it was about and I kindly played my tape for them.

Did they appreciate no. evil

Still this song has special meaning to me. The message is so strong and positive.

I agree would have been wonderful on ONA.

When I first heard that song, it was a very similar response to when I first heard "Annastesia"...it's a very DEEP, moving track, you really 'feel' that one...

"Put down the needle, put down the spoon". Apparently it was dedicated to "a departed friend".

Could this be a reference to Miles?

"Put down the needle, put down the spoon" was in reference to two individuals: former bodyguard Chick Huntsberry and Johnathon Melvoin (Wendy's brother who was in Smashing Pumpkins).

I see. For a guy who doesn't do drugs the list of Prince acquaintances who've gone the way of the needle and the spoon is surprisingly large.

I didn't like this when I first got Emancipation so I never listened to it until about 2 years ago when someone posted that it was the only good song on Emancipation. I thought I must have missed something so I gave it a new listen & loved it. It was like finding a hidden track.
