That's actually creepy they read the comments here... just saying...
I know... And nothing was said about the article being posted on the forum This thread is not the one they read. And/or rather, this is not the thread with Gen's highlighted comments posted on it. |

I have read the ALS article a few times and I have to say I am impressed. It has grown on me and withstood scrutiny. Good for Harper's for getting it. Philmoreliz |

It is not about Prince; it is about Hilton Als.
Thank you. The audience for this article was not meant to be Prince-nerds on the internet. It's meant for the literate readership of Harper's magazine. And Hilton is talking about his own life in relation to Prince.
I liked the article cause it talks about Prince from the angle of queer subjectivity. I too feel a loss when I come across new, more hetero-ish, Jehovah's witness Prince. The ambiguous Prince was very powerful for a lot of us. Hilton Als can be as prententious as fuck, and his style may not be something many people here are used to, but I think this story is quality.

I had a similar reaction to seeing his name on the cover of Harper's. Call it selfish or childish but I enjoy how my 'literate' friends roll their eyes when I refer to Prince as a great artist. Prince--or our interpretations of him--remain complex. I love that Hilton Als took that on. Philmoreliz |

very weird, racially & sexually twisted... and he/she didn't like much the best & most prolific period of Prince's career 1982-1987?
I did like the description of Cat
and it did give us a nice Controversy/1999 era pic I've never seen before

The level at Harper's has really declined that they would publish this type of garbage. |
