You might as well ask Prince to identify who the second shooter was on the grassy knoll. I'm sure he'll make about as much sense. Additionally, since I hate house music, those Jamie Lewis mixes suck, the original mix is a bit flatter than the radio mix, and I still love the original radio mix. Hopefully, those two Jamie Lewis mixes can go the way of the second shooter on the grassy knoll.

I have only heard it once that one day I think I heard it online here. Where can I hear it now?

Plus these are different times. States threatening to secede, a black president twice, world on brink of disaster, terrorism....this Remix smokescreen is just that.

Prince..come on..show us you got it like Obama. Get on that mic (in the Paisley Park lawn).

I always said it and will say it again....Prince and house just don't go well together.

Again a terrible remix. The vocals and the music are like two different tracks, and the music is very cheesy. Prince voice just doesn't work with this kind of remixes.

There are a few remixes of Prince songs which work like Controversy and 1999 but that's it.

On either score.

I liked that remix of Sexy MF on the extended versions..not that those were truly house though.

Good on the Dr for sharing this treat! I really like the original mix very much & obviously the radio edit that I've heard already. Not sure about the dance remixes. I don't know if they go with Prince's voice or the style of the original song. I'm sure loadsa younger peeps will love it, but I'm an old foagie & cannot handle euro techno/house sounds anymore. However I shall still be purchasing it for the non-dance versions biggrin Love this song!

Yeah i thought it was weird he didn't say 'rock and roll love affair' in the radio verison - now we know it was edited out (for some dumb reason - i would have thought that was an important part to leave in? y'know the title of the effin song!!!)

Is this a different vocal?

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Troy and Le Petit Prince get shafted but he allows this?! disbelief

I love the original song but those remixes are dreadful. Is this the same guy that did those godawful Dance 4 Me ones? They were shit too.

RIP sad

damn. prince singles used to be exciting. because they had a 12" version

and a bside or 2.

for a man with near 600 songs on wait in the vault he sure became a bit

stingy with his material these last few years.

it would have been nice if he'd at least released songs that he already put

out there on his recent singles. like "hot summer" and "cause and effect"

and "turn me loose" or "in a large room with no light" etc etc. or for that

itunes version of "extraloveable" why wasn't the instrumental portion on it?

"rich friends", there's another one. the list just goes on and on.

we are forced to download them and then he throws a fit over downloading

in his interviews lol

i would have never thought that prince would be ok with his songs being in

circulation (the official songs) simply as radiorips with intro's being spoken

over etc. i suppose that's the cheapest way to release a song tho biggrin but it

doesn't get him any money at all. at least it being on itunes or bandcamp or

wherever would net him a few bucks and give us a chance to download the

material legally and in good quality.

instead it's these remixes that are, well, that are.... neutral

which is a double shame since this is an actual vinyl/cd release where the

sound is best. putting 4 lame remixes onto a disc costs just as much as a

couple of those songs i mentioned earlier. so wtf? does he really like them

remixes himself? i can't believe that.

for this one i'd really been hoping for a version of "the dance electric" but

sadly it's a no go.

actually the original mix - the pre-cheese ' mix if u will! isn't too bad. The JL remixes are O.K., would love to see / hear the reaction to these if played in a club.

Sorry Jamie but these remixes aren't working. Why does this guy have the clout to touch Prince's material?

Decided to give the remixes another try this morning with fresh ears & I'm kinda warming to the second one. It at least is a bit funky & has the guitars in it. Yep, I'd get up to dance to this, if I actually ever went clubbing that is! Ha ha. But the first remix could eventually make my ears bleed & give me brain damage shake no likey I'm afraid.

The remixes are pretty damn bad.

Given that he has been so fond of the "real music by real musicians" motto I am a bit confused why Prince wants to release these. The synths clearly do not follow the chord changes of the original composition and the "harmonies" they create together with the vocals are sketchy at best. Do these dance music producers of today have any idea what keys and scales are? The second one is a bit better due to the guitar, but I don't see a reason why I'd want to listen to something like that either.

The original mix was sort of interesting to listen to though.
