Let's make a CD: ROCK Guitar

I'm making a CD for a guitarist that only knows the mainstream pop prince. I'm trying to hook him up on the killer rock/funky side of Prince - with songs that he's DEFINITELY not heard.

I'm thinking of stuff like:

She's Always In My Hair
Witness 4 the Prosecution
Erotic City (the high guitar is tooo funky)
Controversy
America
Endorphinemachine

maybe some SOTT stuff, I dunno.

And DEFINITELY some live stuff.

Any suggestions?

well my Prince ROCK cd is already made, called:
*Rock & Roll Is Alive...& It Lives In Minneapolis*

Let's Go Crazy (Sendai 89)
She's Always In My Hair (rock over germany)
The Same December
Purple rain (japan 89)
Dinner With Delores
I Like It There
Chaos & Disorder
Endorphinemachine (original demo)
So Far,SO Pleased
Morning Papers
Peach
Bambi
Right The Wrong
3 Chains O' Gold
One Of Us
The Cross (Sendai 89)
Strays Of the World

that isnt really rock guitar, just pure rock.

if it was rock GUITAR...i'd add Joy (ONALive),Just My Imaginmation (SmallClub),TheRide ,Undertaker (tho they would go on a blues cd really..),& a few others.

im going 2 make a str8 raw blues compilation soon.

Whenever I want to "impress" someone
with P's guitar I reach for RAVE from
the Small Club (1988) show (as someone
else here mentioned).
I always get some: eyepop

I only heard small club recently and my first reaction was...wait till i play this to all the non believers. Its the most perfect performance, and guitar wise Prince and Mico just excel themselves on to another level.
