So...David Coleman on The Glamourous Life? Interesting...
Moderators Note: Nothing in that article, that I've read since Lisa put it out suggested that David Coleman wrote the glamorous life, David played cello on it, Lisa never said David made the song but that he created the cello piece and played it
Please edit your post title to read David Coleman on the Glamorous Life

Yea but that's the whole song. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

Yea, I'm thinking the same thing after reading it again. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

I don't think that means Prince took a song written by David Coleman
David Coleman created string work on this song and some other, Prince had David Coleman, Jonathon Melvoin, Novi Novog working with him on a lot of stuff for the Purple Rain ATWIAD & Parade era music
and yes they created the instrument piece
the Glamorous Life project is very interesting, my favorite
Glamorous Life: Sheila E (percussion/vocals) Larry Williams (saxophone) David Coleman (cello)
2 Sexy the Bside was written by Sheila E & Stephan Birnbaum (guitarist) who also played guitar on the song
Next Time Wipe the Lipstick Off Your Collar is Sheila E on vocals Novi Novog on violin possibly Brenda Bennett (background vocals) Nick DeCaro (accordion) a collaboration between Brenda Bennett & Sheila E.
Sheila E (remember that Glamous Life lead line? …yup, david!)……..

Isn't the lead line of The Glamorous Life jacked from Just as Long as We're Together?

So now whenever a musician plays on a Prince song he composed it and Prince jacked it?
It says "played", no more no less, and you read "composed"
This thread is completely ridiculous. A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

Prince didn't "jack" anything. David Coleman got credit for the cello parts he played.
Yes, the lead line is fronted by David Coleman's cello.
Yes, most of us knew that.
Endstory.
The most interesting part of Lisa's Bio on her Brother is where she talks about his natural command for languages, and that fact that native speakers of some languages were convinced that he was native as well.

David was a really interesting character, even that pic of him as a kid, he could be almost any ethnicity, reminds me of pictures of Slash(guitarist)

"a good artist borrows, a great artists steals" - Pablo Picasso
"Pablo Picasso was never called an asshole" - Circle Jerks
C'mon we all know prince was only as good as the bandmates he stole from. Hell even the Sexy MF chorus was written by Tony M. He's been on a steady decline in quality thievery for years. That was nice of so many musicians to help him out for so many years tho. I am sure they are honored that prince stole their music and took all the credit and all the money. No wonder no one wants to work with this guy anymore. Keep flaunting those golden toilet seats u call earings prince. I hope that consoles your loneliness a little. I .. how u say? .. I no wonder u .. I no wonder u.

which is why this thread title ought to be changed, insert "did NOT." because lots of folks will just read the thread title and assume it for fact.
there may be inaccuracies in song credits given over his career, but let's be fair and accurate at least.
actually needs to be locked since it's a "nonsense thread"
