Today I was just skimming across my iTunes library when an old odditty presented itself to me. It was an alternate version of Around The World In A Day, from one of the Jewel Box collections of bootlegs. I remember how when I first got into Prince I was looking for some eccentric song that had a pyschedelic feel to it and I remember deciding to track down an MP3 of Around The World In A Day (this is before I got the actual CD or Vinyl and before I started really listening to Prince's catalouge.) So I opened this mp3 downloader I had on my phone, and typed in Around The World In A Day. What I ended up downloading was nothing like the actual released version of the song though (and while I love the released version, I can't help but feel that this version is superior, maybe because I heard it first or maybe because it actually is better, who knows.) This version was MUCH faster than the album version, and still faster than the versions found on Work It 2.0. In fact, for all I know it might just be the same version as in Work It just sped up as the voice sounds almost Camille like in a way. Its actually a really interesting version of the song and would've made a great single xD. I mean its such a dancy, happy pop song sped up! It actually reminds me of Baby I'm A Star in that way, if Prince had dropped acid when he recorded it . Anyway, I was just curious if anyone had heard this version of the song and what they thought of it... Or if it's just some strange oddity my MP3 searching has led me to. I can't find it on that MP3 searcher anymore, and the version I have is really low quality. I might play around with the Work It 2.0 version to see if I can replicate what I heard on the sped up version.

There are actually 2 alternate versions of the song. One starts out with the same piccolo intro as the album version and leads into a more acoustic-sounding take.... the other version starts out with a kick drum intro.
