For me RnR Love Affair is alright but not like past performances, were you couldn't wait to rewind it and watch it again.

Okay, look at that face?! He's taken the pimp look to the highest level. I think at this stage/age with that look and sleezy rnb affair pop song, he can't get badder anymore. Surely writing song lyrics such as "it's tight, but I can fit you in", is all that he gets his inspirations from. This song, performance and his band is bad.

Edit: I watched it twice now and I wonder why he hasn't performed purple and gold instead. I think rnr affair is one of his worst songs. He's looking like one of the Golden Girls ladies with a wig and pjama on a snooze party. Damn U Prince! This is no fun, how about doing some more cover songs instead of a new album?

It's just how I feel and what I see. I compare this nonsense to that experience I had when I saw him perform Scandalous back then. He's aged, but no reason to fake Elvis. Now Andy is faking funk and I guess Prince gotta fake Rock. I think Prince is ova.

It was so good seeing Prince again live in person. I missed him. Even though i went through hell getting in. It all worked out in the end. It was amazing seeing him rehearse the band. He never lets Andy out of his sight Prince brings so much electricity & energy whereever he is at. I swear he is not of this earth. Andy's per4rmance was very good. She is a true beauty. I can see why Prince is so in awe of her. Loved the new song "If I was King" she per4rmed ..Beautiful just like she.

Awe how did If I was King sound live? I love that song...Were he and Andy interacting a lot off stage? Girl is pretty but she looks so damn skinny lately. Glad you got to go to the concert. Hope you were able to sneak some pics!

I enjoyed RNR Love Affair waaaaay better live than the studio version. Those horns were hot and I thought Prince's vocal performance was on point.

Wish I could have seen more of Dance Electric.

the studio version isnt all that but that was solid.. his voice sounded nice

U heard it b4 ? Anywho it was amazing live I liked it better than "People Pleaser". The band that Prince put 2gether 4 her with the Npg was funky. They do over power her though. But I like what he is doing with her. Even though most don't. I get it....

They definitely have a "connection" going won't say what else happen when cameras stopped don't gossip ....I agree she is thin. But a very beautiful lady. I was in awe of her beauty. I think they make a cute couple...

I don't record or take pictures....Especially after what happen to me when I wasn't even doing that...

Tonight was an experience i will NEVER 4GET. Wish i could have went to The Sayers Club. I know its going 2 b funky with prince new horn section.. Oh! forgot to mention Shelby was not part of the background singers. Get well soon shelby. I missed U....

Soo you're baiting us with this "I won't say what happened when the cameras stopped rolling" haha. My guess is you saw them leave together or something of that sort And yes I heard "If I was a king" on another site.

Sorta sad Shelby wasn't there since I've gotten use to her screams and chants.

Thanks for the review...would have loved to have seen Dance Electric and COOL live...those songs definitely get the crowd jumping. Here's to hoping someone was able to sneak into the Sayers Club.

What I got so far from the streams sounds good. "RnR Love Affair" sounds better live and I can only wishe he'd rework the studio version to sound more like it.

Nothing wrong with his looks, the band or the performance. Sure, it's Prince in his 50s, but at least he seems to be willing to stretch out a bit again.

That has to be one of the worst 'performances' I've seen or heard from him. Apart from the fact that Arse & arse affair isn't worth the 2 minutes he prolly took to write it, he's surrounded himself with muppets. If that band was on a pub stage I'd prolly walk out. Glad people had a good time and all that but, well...

I was hoping they might've worked on some choreography. AA to stage front, P kicks her off stage. Exit stage left, that type of thing. She's a real star alright. The kind of 'chocolate star' that sits between the butt cheeks.

On a more serious note. I don't know if he was blaming the sound or anything on R&R but he's sounding a cats fart away from singing off key to me, not in a good way either and I'm being generous. Sounds like he's either bored, or he's playing it down to make AA sound better?

"R'n R love affair" is just such a boring song. I don't like this lazy country rock vibe at all.

just wanted to say, i have been getting into mj's music and career lately, and would love a documentary about him, prince and madonna, about how their careers unravelled side by side, but prince is still my number one.

just seeing how good he looks, how much he loves and enjoys what he does, this performance on Jimmy Kimmel reminded me just what a great role model, singer and artist he is. i love his new song, especially now having heard a live version, get your earphones in and enjoy it, instead of windging about what a boring song it is etc etc, just take it for what it is and be glad that prince loves music above all else.

he has made songs for us in this present day which are reflective of who he is as an artist, vocalist and musician. can't say how much this guy means to me and my life, and unlike michael, he doesn't have to be too dramatic and over the top, he lets the music be genuinely music and not some kind of propaganda and all that we see in todays artists, they can learn alot about how prince loves music, goes on stage and performs, for music, we as his fans know this, and i have only learnt to respect him in every way for it. he doesn't care about us as much as he cares about music, so in that mature and joyous manner he continues to be the number one artist of my life, and my time on earth. he is on planet music, while todays artists and artists in the past seem to me to be lost in their personal problems and their personalities in general.

I got goose bumps watching RnR Affair. Prince is completely into it, full of energy, great vocals, tight band, horns divine, the lyrics are so clear you hear everything and the song is super catchy. It by far outdoes Rasberry Beret and other older similar hits. Pity the Dance Electric was cut short, dig that song too!

Cream with the horns, Grooovy! What an intro....

Two tips:

'It's tight', sounds better with Prince saying it.

Andy must not sing 'take me with you' it sounds awfully flat. Doesn't fit her voice. But People Pleaser and Dreamland are super songs and there she sounds great!

It was OK. I agree with the poster that said Prince off-key, or very close to it. I think he was about a half-step flat most of the time.

And his guitar wasn't working half the time on "RnR Love Affair". Or perhaps, just not turned up enough. You could hear the jangly E chord pretty well, but you couldn't hear the lower parts on TV.

I just watched the video from Kimmel's site, and the guitar sound was a little better but still not up to par.
