Which Prince solo is the most complex or most difficult to play? Prince is an amazing instrumentalist! He can play so many different styles on the guitar and piano that it astounds me! What do you think is the most complex or most difficult to play solo Prince has done...any instrument....studio or live I was thinking the Something in the water rehearsal solo for my choice The folks from Brooklyn play da bass pretty good but the ones from Minneappolis play it like they OUGHTA SHOULD!

I would probably have to go with a couple...but one that comes to mind now is...
Xogenous (One of his most complex blues guitar solos...IMO; it is also one of his best)

While My guitar is not hard to play.Prince writes his solos to be integral and memorable part of the songs,he don't make solo just to be hard for reproduction. Every Prince solo have easy and fucked up parts. if you want to pick solos by ear i think fast run on Why You Wanna Treat me so Bad is not that easy. Computer Blue isn't hard to play but the melody is complex so you got to take a bit of effort to remember it. Princes harder to play solos often come in a live setting.
regarding piano LoveSexy medley have some intricate piano parts.

I would say just my imaginations and rave from small club Are harder to master in terms of feel, speed and theory wise. Also alexa de Paris for the smoothness and fluidty.

THIS. I think that for musicians that have listened to a lot of his music none of his solos are all that hard. I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

it's a great difference between something being difficult to play, and something to be difficult to duplicate. You can't duplicate the emotion, style and attitude of how it was played. Not saying you can't do it better, but you can't duplicate it. And imo he is probaby better at making the guitar sound like it's emotional, than he is technically. Although he is also a great technical player. But his emotion, attitude and way of writing guitar melodies is what makes him som great. My Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/tundrah

That is one that I have listened to a bunch of times and never quite been able to hear what the notes are. I did discover recently he's using an octave effect, which explains I was having trouble telling what register it is in. My Legacy
