New topic PrintableI have to say he looks utterly utterly ridiculous...but isn't that sort of the reason we love him? Its not exactly the first time he's worn something questionable... Its just weird to think how dapper and mature he looked throughout musicology/3121 and now he looks like he's gone soft in the attic. Regardless I still love him and his work

Surprise Guest Prince Performs Two Songs With Mary J. Blige At iHeartRadio Music Festhttp://music.yahoo.com/bl...01267.html
Mary J. Blige stole the second night of the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas, bringing the elusive Prince on stage as her surprise guest. Four songs into her set, the Queen Of Hip-Hop Soul stopped her band from playing Chaka Khan's "Sweet Thing," a song she covered on her 1992 debut album What's The 411? "I got a real good friend in the building. He's one of the most amazing artists to every walk the earth," she said as she introduced Prince. The 12,000 attendees at the MGM Grand Arena went nuts as the iconic soul artist emerged from backstage, donning '70s-inspired attire—an afro, flame-print shirt, turtle neck, and silky, yellow bell bottoms that matched his guitar. Prince didn't say a word. He took his place as a member of the band and helped Blige and company resume her classic Chaka Khan cover, a fitting feature for Prince, considering he signed Khan to his NPG Records and produced her 1998 album Come 2 My House. Blige, who couldn't stop blushing about Prince's appearance, told him that she was "so blessed to have you here" and asked him to "sing with me tonight." "I know you have to be very particular about who you be messing with," she said. They agreed to sing his song, "Nothing Compares 2 U," as a duet. The crowd roared when Prince sang his opening lyric. Mary stood there, mesmerized, rocking with her hand on her hip. The song worked perfectly as a duet, as they sang to each other. Feeling the moment, Prince asked the crowd, "Y'all mind if I play this thing," before taking center stage like a scene from his movie Purple Rain. As they wrapped, Blige said, "Thank you Prince," as she bowed to him and offered him a hug and kiss. As he exited, she kept the energy level high with "Just Fine." Mary just raised the bar for the rest of the night.

So he can actually see through that crazy contraption? Our man has gone Nipsey Russell with the fro, being a music legend allows him to be odd.

Ah ha! I knew that top was the same as Prince's guitar! The gold mask is coool by the way....very funky futuristic. Mary J must've been over the moon to have Prince come on stage with her! What a nice surprise for those in the audience. Roll on the music 4 Chicago!!! I just cannot wait 2 find out what songs Prince plays with them horns!

rarely does prince wear the same clothes more than once in public - the only time recently I can think of is the European tour for 20Ten - maybe there is a new album on the way - between that same outfit worn on the View, the W2Chicago photo, this appearance and that new guitar with same design...............

Yea I was thinking the same thing...is that an afro on his shirt and guitar or just black stuff? I hope this isn't his main uniform during the W2Chicago shows...

It sounds silly but I didn´t like the outfit from the firts 20Ten performances in Europe but I was just 2 excited 2 complain because there he was after 10 years of waiting. When he came back 2 Belgium a few months later his outfits were much better and surely on the pics I´ve seen from the W2A tour. It´s NOT that important but it´s nice 2 see him perform in a nice outfit instead of the 20Ten cover Love4oneanother

Many thanks 2 the kindly Doctor for posting the video of Sweet Thing! What a lovely thing to start a Sunday morning off. Really beautiful guitar playing from Prince. Ahh, when he plays that thing I'm just putty in his hands. Miss Allo is the luckiest girl on the face of the planet 2 b his Sweet Thing It's a shame the image quality wasn't better though. Kinda reminded me of my Dad's 1970s cine camera! Will Nothing Compares 2 U be available 4 our viewing pleasures as well?

That was a pathetic piece of amateur acting. As if the band would know "Nothing Compares 2 U" of the top of their heads.
Her good friend Prince? Seriously? What have they ever collaborated on?
And Mary not being arsed to sing "Sweet Thing" and telling the audience to do it: WTF is up with some artists? DO YOUR GODDAMN JOB. © Bart Van Hemelen

LOL. that was the first thing that came to my mind as well. I love those guitars!
I liked the performance. but tbh, I'd have loved to see Prince performing with Aerosmith, instead of Mary J....
his outfit... kinda like it. the glasses.... are eccentric... something Lady Gaga would wear.
