What kind of an abuse is that claim??? There are a few similarities if you are really looking for them but I wouldn't go as far as to say that one is based on the other, or that it woulda deserved some writing credits

I didn't think so at first but then you hear the chorus and you can definitely hear the resemblence.

Prince has done many songs 'borrowing' from older artists so it's not surprising. (Not criticising just observing;))

A more recent example is Lavaux borrowing heavily from the Pointer Sister's Automatic.

I mentioned it many times over the years, that prince has stolen the melody of the chorus from spill the wine. And I think the reason that this npgmc-track is one of the few that was not included in the chocolate invasion- or slaughterhouse-album is some legal trouble with eric burdon's lawyers. It's too obvious to deny the similarities.

OMG, I never paid attention to it until now. It is definitely similar.
