The Good:

-Cool lyrics that are telling a story and seem to be genuine, inspired, and not forced. That's a pretty big hurdle for the Prince of today, so bravo to that!

The Bad:

-Biting the Take Me With U synth line

-The production sounds cheap. The synths are retro, yet they have no punch the way they did when they weren't retro. They just seem too light and pretty corny, a la So Far So Pleased and The One U Wanna C.

-I've noticed his voice kind of showing some wear in the last few albums and this song really shows it. I realize it's partially an affectation he's doing, but it also sounds like a guy who's getting old which makes me sad. Prince is supposed to stay young forever, damn it!

I guess it would be a "nay" for me but I don't hate it or anything. Just slightly disappointed. Not as disappointed as I was when I saw his ass on The View this morning though.

But I can't think of a time in the recent past where I was truly embarrassed for the guy soley based on his look. Lopez wasn't THAT long ago and he looked great! EEK! Well, it's nice to hear from my good pal Prince again. I'm not too crazy about it but I like the line "this kind of love don't come from a prayer." Shocked he would imply that prayer doesn't fulfill everything. Not really all that different from 20ten in production. Synths still sound a bit too bland for him. I know he can do better than this and have no doubt that this is just a throwaway song he wrote about him and Andy.

I really love the lyrics and the vocals! It has taken a couple of listens, but I have grown to really dig it. I think his lyricism is very clever..

I dig it..I don't mind too much the synths and even the horn synth...LOL

It sounds a bit country-esque...Which is not a bad thing, considering I really don't like country, and he makes this a bit funky and sincere!

Ive been playing it all day and still love it. This is one where I want to hear more, like his extended 12"s. The main synth is awesome and needs its own space. He needs a long extended instrumental intro and outro. He can leave the "take me with U" riff out of it though. God I miss his killer extended singles.

This is a new Prince song in the longest time that I do not cringe at and would not be embarrassed to play out in public.

This is a nice little song and always fun to hear a new song by P. I'm glad he he is still healthy and making music. He's not doing genius work like he did in the 80s but no artists stay at genius level for that long.

I wonder if this is the first taste of a new album. The song is ok - not great, but not horrible either. I'd give it 3 stars for now. I'll spin it some more to see if my opinion changes.

Sounds like an outtake from the "Planet Earth" era. Very bland.

exactly - I don't understand the people who come to this site for years while ripping prince for nearly everything he puts out. The song put a smile on my face pretty much from the first note. is it the most brilliant thing he ever did? Of courst not. But it was certainly better than anything else I actually heard on the radio today. And to make it even better, it came completely out of the blue when nobody expected it.
