Don't we just want to see Prince Happy?

I'm new here, and I see allot of Prince fans are unhappy with the way he do things. I sometimes wish things were different. But as a true fan I just wish Prince HAPPINESS and LOVE! and stop trying to please his ungrateful fans! But I'm never angry or displeased with Prince, because I know he is a human, just like the rest of us, YES he has insurmountable talent, but he is on the road to happiness and he is looking for peace and love in his life just like us? And I am tired of people judging him, He has been judged his whole life, because we all know how "different" he is.

We are quick to judge him because we sometimes don't understand him, and I don't think Prince wants to be understood, he just wants to be loved for who he is..entirely.

So can fans be "fans" and give him back the love he gives us, and stop complaining about everything little thing he do that don't please you.

Welcome to the org.

Something you should probably know straight off is that writing in pink is considered tacky around these parts. Also, because of its similarity to the banner colours it's difficult to read, which means many people won't bother to go much beyond I'm new here, and.

Trying to please his ungrateful fans is the career Prince chose.

He's a musician, he doesn't need (or I dare say want) our love, he needs our appreciation of his music and our attendance at his concerts - or to put it another way - our money. Which is fine and the way it should be.

What is this love he gives us that you speak of?

Prince has never given me any love. I have never expected him to. I would be quite taken aback if he did.

I imagine that he appreciates on some level the dedication and financial support we offer him by buying his music and attending his concerts, but loving us would be... inappropriate.

Ok, I know he often says Thank you, we love y'all or similar during the closing stages of his concerts, but he doesn't mean it literally - I imagine he's paraphrasing for Thank you for spending your hard earned money on quite expensive tickets to see me play, enabling me to continue to live in the manner to which I have become accustomed, and I do hope that my efforts to entertain you have been sufficiently enjoyable as to leave you with the opinion that it was worth every hard earned cent, or something along those lines.

To be honest, I would advise against attempting to give him back any love that you perceive him having given. There is documentary evidence showing that rather than being delighted, Prince would more likely consider you a fucking weirdo and have security throw you out.

Also, as will become abundantly clear to you if you stick around here long enough, complaining about every little thing Prince does that doesn't please us is what keeps this site alive, particularly at the moment as we have no new music to complain about. On the plus side, he has just forced another fan site to close, so that should keep us grumbling for a while.

But to answer the question; insofar as I wouldn't wish anyone to be unhappy then yes, of course I want Prince to be happy.

But I don't just want him to be happy. I also want him to release at least one groundbreaking album per year and to play in Dublin at least 3 times a year.

Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.

Ohh being tacky is what I do wink, those who bother to read my pink tackiness, please do by all means, if its hard to read, that i apologize for smile. And I understand your perception of Prince, and as you can see we bother differ on how we view Prince, all his fans view him differently. My plea was for people to the human side of Prince and not the super star artist, his daily living may be different than you and I, but that don't mean he don't give us love in his own way.(His music, his art, himself) And definitly don't mean we shouldn't give him back. And it's sad that he hasn't lived up to his fans expectations, and he might never again be able to do it, but I sure hope we show him some gratitude for all the work he has done. Because we are in this forum talking about him, clearly he has impacted our lives in some way or the other.

The 'problem' I have is that Prince is more creative & prolific when he's unhappy. Whilst I wouldn't wish unhappiness on anyone, at least we know what we're in for less plastic & more grit whtn Prince isn't drinking his own purple kool aid.

Of course I only want Prince to be happy - not everybody on here says bad things towards Prince, you shouldn't stereotype his fans and think everyone on here is the same.

I love Prince.

.... I mean that literally: i LOVE Prince boxed

You've got it backwards. Buyers of a product aren't concerned with the seller's happiness. Sellers are concerned with buyers' happiness....that is if they want to continue having buyers.

You can probably see by the posts in this thread the general attitude of people on this forumn. I'm fairly new to this site too and I want to say welcome, and I completely agree with you because I've thought the same thing myself.

Welcome!

A few tips:

A) many times when u see a lot of negativity directed towards Prince, it is usually a small number of people with multiple usernames

B) if you truly dig Prince as it appears you do, unless you are bored, ignore the posters affilliated with point A

As for Prince's happiness, once you filter through and get to know who the troll/s is...are, you will discover that the majority have maximum love for him and only want to see him happy.

The rest are most likely unemployed 40 year olds living with their parents venting frustration.... lol

Welcome! A few tips:

A) many times when you see a lot of blind, artificially induced positivity, with no room for criticism, directed towards Prince, it is usually a small number of people with multiple usernames

B) if you have no personality of your own and don't have the ability to make up your own mind and discuss your opinions with others who (shock horror!) may have opinions that differ to your own, ignore any posters who aren't affilliated with point A

As for Prince's happiness, once you filter through and get to know who the kool-aid swilling stalkers are, you will discover that the majority have respect for his music, as that's what music fans really care about. Whether he's happy or not is absolutely none of our business, and I'm pretty sure Prince would say the same to you if he could.

Talk about what you want, but don't be scared/offended if another's opinion differs to yours. And definitely don't feel the need to send out random personal attacks, cos it makes you look a tit. If you can do that, you'll survive the org wink

Have fun!

lol Erik

I've always wanted to see Prince Happy biggrin I'm shocked as the pissers, moaners and the groaners continutally try to cut him down. There's also been a few really cool type of Prince fans I've met along the way. headbang

I honestly was and still am surprised by all the negativity that surrounds Prince, the Man that has brought to so many, beautiful sounds, themes, arrangements and entertainment. I always wish Prince lots of love heart flower dancing jig

The solution for me lol is that I just don't bother reading the negative articles and withdraw at times, hoping Prince is honestly happy and will continute to spread the musical funky love for many years to come. I also secretly wish that he'll be performing in a city near all of us guitar soon.

True, I think artists in general are like that. They express themselves the best when they have emotions they don't know how to handle and put it into their work.

Come on do you really think people would be on here if they didn't care about him? Obviously, anyone who wishes bad things for anyone has severe problems. Even though everyone is a critic on here ppl are here because obviously P's work speaks to them in a way or they wouldnt care enough to comment on it.

I think happiness has become the big goal/buzz word in the last thirty or so years as the society has lost more and more joy, pleasure, and personal freedom. So, I'm going to say no. He has went down a path with Larry's brainwashing. I don't think he is happy let alone joyful. It would be great to see him with a partner who is his equal that would push and challenge him and call him on his stuff. Instead he continues down the manopause route of young girls and sycophants that he seems to feel comfortable surrounding himself with. I would hope he has joy and love in his life, but, he still seems to be repeating the same patterns from his childhood which I don't think is ever a good sign. I still have hope that he will evolve and find someone special and get back on his path.
