In a way, I think we are though. He doesn't seem to handle criticism well at all, and I reckon when he's bored, he'll have a surf around to see what people are thinking.

Examples of this that I can think of are Cause & Effect, which appears to have been pulled from 20Ten & the release of an album including Hot Summer, after the negative reaction from fans.

Oh, and PFUNK as someone already mentioned... But that's kind of a double edged sword, because we also ended up with No more Candy 4U.

so in my opinion, he does seem to react to negative criticism of his output, and I really don't see any of his advisors passing that info on (without being fired), so he's finding out somehow.

And let's face it, where else is left that he can see what his fanbase is thinking, he's personally, or had a hand in closing the rest.

I've read that most celebrities don't read what's written about them. So I doubt he does read prince.org

Also because I think he's pretty content with his life he doesn't need affirmation from us.

I might be wrong though, I've only listened to it twice, and the second time was just to check that it was as horrible as I remembered.

I agree, I think he is in a different space and time now.

He probably use to surf the org way back when, but doubt it now, he has others do it

I was gonna suggest a sticky thread a while back where we could quickly run through the answers (or consensus) of frequently asked questions, but then realised I couldn't be arsed.

It'd have stuff like:

"Does prince visit the .org?" & then the best/funniest answers collected from all those threads.

"What should I play at my wedding?" Followed by a huge list of slow songs with votes...

"Did Prince have a rib removed so he could blow himself?" no, course not, he's double jointed...

"Did Prince ever get on stage with JB & MJ..?" no.

Then when one of these threads shows up, we can just point it at the thread and be done with it

Sometimes I think he does. I remember when orgers were responding to a post, asking what they'd like his next album to contain. It was about a 50/50. Half said they wanted a return to the Linn sounding funk, the other half wanted a guitar driven album.

A few months later, Prince released both MPLS and Lotusflower, giving us both. So I do think he checks and listens to his fans.

Sure. I don't know when, but I've no doubt he's read posts here. There used to be a couple accounts people were pretty sure were Prince (TheNewWatcher was one) but who really knows about that.

If he didn't, there wouldn't be all the strict rules on posting his videos and music.

If he doesn't I would assume he has people keep an eye on it and inform him of things he might think are important in some way or another. If he personally does, I doubt he's a regular watcher, I mean when I get busy with my daily life I barely have time to come here. And here we have one of the hardest working men in the music business. Interesting thing though, I used to have a link to my website and sometimes someone from minneapolis would go to my site and listen to some songs which included a P cover. If it was him I'm flattered but I'd generally doubt it.
