Prince is my favourite artist of all time. I grew up in the seventies and was a teenager in the eighties.

Prince was on top the game back then. I was 15 when Purple Rain came out and every following album was like a big treasure to me. At that time I problably listen to Prince every day and there was no band or artist that came even close.

Nowadays I am happy when Prince produces a new record, but he is no longer on top of my playlist.

There are so many great artists and bands, which produce exciting music nowadays.

I hope that Prince can surprise me once again with a new exciting record.

That's funny cuz I also discovered prince when I was a teenager ...but I enjoyed his music but it really started to appreciate him more as I became older and realized what a brilliant musician he really is..and he never fails to make me happy.I enjoy other bands & musicians but I gotta say he is most def my all time favorite even if its been awhile since he's released anything...I'm patient

Prince has been my favourite artist for almost 20 years.

There was a period in my mid-20s - maybe 4-5 years - when he wasn't on the "top of my playlist", like you describe it, but that's just because I found so many new artists and styles of music. I followed what Prince did, but there were so many other things to be more interested of. I was also making music myself and it was very different from his.

Now I am listening to him again pretty much on every day (or at least every other day). That's not because I feel like he's creating on the same level as he was before, but I can always go back to his old stuff. If I'm going to put on SOTT it shouldn't have much to do with what his current output sounds like.

His classic records just contain the best music I've ever heard (and I've heard thousands and thousands of records).
