Although I didn't hear the entire lp until I saw the movie in 1987, this was the first Prince lp that I loved (1) instantly and (2) from beginning to end. Prior to that I only knew the 4 songs played on radio, but I loved all of those instantly, too.

I think High Fashion would have fit perfectly in this movie

What I like most about this era is that Prince is continuing with his theme or mantra of not allowing anything to limit or define him. For a kid from the Mississippi Delta, Parade/Under the Cherry Moon continued the message of do what feels right to you, leave no stone unturned, enjoy as much of life as possible, and know that the metaphysical is more rewarding than the physical. And, “Kiss” is still the groove, and “Wreka Stow” is still funny.

my fav seen that maybe showed that Prince hadnt taken over yet it the who section where he is wearing the gold suit n ruffled shirt. the Honest Man piano scene is my fav

Yes we do, it could have been so much bigger if he brought the Family to France and had them doing shows promoting the album after their 1st Avenue show

actually a lot of album outtakes, but a lot of music created during that period that extended from the soundtrack project possibles for the Dream Factory / Camille projects

While the released version was an abbreviated a capella version, in 1986, a full-length instrumental version was included in the Under The Cherry Moon movie.

Initial tracking took place on 30 November, 1985 (on the same day as Mountains) at the Washington Avenue Warehouse, Eden Prairie, MN, USA. It is thought that the a capella version was created around the same time, and it may have been intended as a brief opening track for the Under The Cherry Moon album, in the same vein as For You on the For You album. The song was performed in the film Krush Groove which Sheila E. also had a major supporting role in. lol U know that does seriously fit the movie theme, Love Mountains but after he dies + the message is simple, I wonder if it was created for a particular scene in the movie. He had so many outtakes in that movie a video 4 heaven would have been interesting

The live concert from San Francisco showcases Sheila's skill as a performer, percussionist and singer. The show kicks into high gear showing Sheila rock the stage with "Sister Fate" and "Erotic City". Anyone heard of (or seen) the original intro to this, with P leaving a "clients" house the morning after, and then catching up with Jerome and Venus De Milo, before the bar scene kicks in!?

I've only heard about it but have never seen it. : (
