One of the things I try to do with the things I direct -- namely for our acts -- is go for the different, the out-of-the-norm, the avant purple, so to speak. -Prince 1985

Uh! U don't have 2 be beautiful 2 turn me on
CHORUS: U got 2 not talk dirty, baby, if U wanna impress me
CHORUS Yes, oh Women, not girls, rule my world, I said they rule my world U don't have 2 be rich 2 be my girl
Kiss is a 1986 single by Prince and The Revolution, from the album Parade. "Kiss" started as a short acoustic demo, about a minute in length, with one verse and the chorus. Prince gave the song to the funk band Mazarati for their debut album. Mazarati BrownMark & producer David Z. drastically reworked the song, giving it its stripped-down minimalist sound. When Mazarati delivered the song to Prince, he was amazed at their work and decided to take back the song for himself. He replaced their lead vocal, added the guitar break in the chorus and edited the song to its present form. Mazarati were credited for their backing vocals, which Prince left intact. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiss_(song)

A Kiss (Extended Version) 7:16
The 12" single of the song is an extension of the album track. The extended section is based on the funky guitar line and contains much fuller instrumentation than the main track, including bass, keys and horns. New lyrics are present from Prince with Jill Jones that ends with a humorous dialogue between a wife and her husband watching Prince on television. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiss_(song)

♥ or $
The B-side of Kiss was the funky ♥ or $ (Love or Money), sung in a processed, higher-pitched vocal, which Prince would later use for his Camille material. The song relates to the theme in Under the Cherry Moon and a bit of the song was heard in the film, as was a bit of the extended version of Kiss. quoted from wikipedia
In the sequence that begins with the song, "Love or Money," there's an aerial shot of a mosiac sidewalk. Said sidewalk can be found in Chateau Park in Nice, France.
Initial tracking took place on 9 July, 1985 at the Washington Avenue Warehouse, Eden Prairie, MN, USA (the day before Neon Telephone). quoted from Prince Vault.com

Others Here With Us is an unreleased track recorded on 20 April, 1985 at Sunset Sound, Hollywood, CA, USA (three days after Wendy's Parade, New Position, I Wonder U and Under The Cherry Moon, on the same day as Old Friends 4 Sale and Tibet, and the day before Life Can Be So Nice and Sometimes It Snows In April). It was included as the fifth track on a 1 May, 1985 configuration of Parade, but was removed before the album's release. -from princevault

Initial tracking took place on 8 July, 1985 at the Washington Avenue Warehouse, Eden Prairie, MN, USA. Clare Fischer arranged and recorded orchestration for the song at some point in mid-late 1985 at Monterey Sound Studios, Glendale, CA, USA, but Prince preferred the track without orchestration, and chose to use the track without orchestration for the final release.

Under the Cherry Moon... The record (Parade) is fantastic. It was a very, very loaded time. There was lots of stuff going on, but, the record was amazing. The “Girls and Boys” music video was shot in Nice on the set of the film. It was actually fantastic. I remember it being really grand. There we were in Nice and it was so beautiful there. It was just kind of a magical time. I felt like a princess. I think all us girls did, because of the hair and makeup. We were like “Oh my God, this is fantastic! Do me!” It was really fun.

How many official versions of Alexa de Paris are there? Is the 7" different than the 12"?

I would assume it's different just from it's extension
Alexa De Paris was released as the b-side of Mountains, the second single from Prince's eighth album Parade, the third to be credited to Prince and the Revolution. Unusually, the extended version was also included as a b-side on the European CD single of Letitgo eight years later. The track is also heard in Prince's second film Under The Cherry Moon.

Ahh, a Roland G-707 guitar synth. You don't see them any more. This guitar was used quite frequently during the Parade gigs.

Following the smash success of its predecessor "Kiss", "Girls & Boys" peaked at number 11 in the UK charts, but was not released as a single in America. Prince's former drummer, Bobby Z. later commented that the song may have helped the entire album and film achieve bigger success, 'second singles sometimes weren't right... "Kiss" was a complete smash and set the album up huge. In my opinion it should then have been "Girls & Boys", not "Mountains"'. The music video for the single consisted of clips from the film and separately-shot footage of The Revolution, including Prince's then-fiancee Susannah Melvoin.
"Girls & Boys" is a funk offering featuring both live drumming as well as Linn drum machine. The keyboard hook is a peculiar duck-like sound. This is the first official Prince single to include saxophone contributions of Eric Leeds. The lyrics speak of characters similar to Christopher and Mary from Under the Cherry Moon, although their actions are not seen in the film. The song includes a seduction spoken by Marie France in French, as well as an early attempt by Prince to deliver a short rap. Background vocals are Sheila E., Wendy & Lisa, and Susannah Melvoin. -wikipedia quoted

The b-sides and outtakes from this album/period weren´t that great imo. Old friends 4 sale and others are ok, the 12" version from Anotherloverholenyohead is great. Weak compared to the b sides from ATWIAD.
