'G-Spot' [Song] Question....

I was listening to 'Vibrator' not too long ago, & I could have sworn that as the song is ending, I could hear the start of 'G-Spot' coming on....& in pretty damn good quality. I've only heard some pretty shitty versions of this song [sound quality wise], but I really liked Prince's version of it [I really don't like Jill Jones's version of it, & I pretty much hate her version of 'All Day All night' very much so]. Was there ever a decent quality version of Prince's 'G-Spot' leaked?

That's because it should have been released in 1984 on a Jill Jones Purple Rain era disc

It would have definately had a different vibe sound and energy to it, probably Prince singing co-lead etc

It was originally in the PR movie script proceeding Electric Intercourse

I can check my stash for what I have of G-Spot

Yeah I got that version too and wondered how this was never leaked in this great quality after Vibrator. I think that it might have been slated for Vanity 6's second album since it segues right after Vibrator. Maybe whoever has the master outtake of Vibrator will one day release G-Spot which probably has Vanity singing the lead.

Wasn't it originally meant for Vanity 6 but got shuffled out when Apollonia came in? I guess it got dusted off for Jill Jones along with All Day, All night. I said it before that it's funny how some proteges have so many bootlegs circulating and some others virtually none in comparison. People obviously weren't thinking ahead when they were grabbing cassettes and pocketing them. lol

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

M.C. (O.S.) G-SPOT & ELECTRIC INTERCOURSE

Ladies and Gentlemen -- please
welcome Prince!

The CLUB erupts in CRIES! Prince hits
the stage, launches into "G-spot," a
fast, high-spirited funk tune that gets
the crowd hopping. Vanity watches as
Prince whips the crowd into a frenzy.

F is 4 frustration
I'm looking 4 what isn't really there
I is instigation
I'm listening 2 the voice beneath my hair
N is 4 the naked body
And 4 what my naked eye can see

G-spot, G-spot
Where, oh where can U be?

A is 4 America
And 4 the things U read in magazines
L is 4 location
I am a clock, the time is 9:15
L is 4 the lust we share
We want 2 know the infamous pleasure

Y is 4 my yearnin'
Burnin' into mystery

G-spot, G-spot
Where, oh where can U be?

Morris listens with a complacent grin on
his face, his eyes searching out various
members of The Time who are scattered
through-out the club. When he connects
with one of them he makes a series of
absurd faces which sends them into
hysterics. For Prince is playing music
that The Time is noted for, and, as far
as Morris is concerned, performs better.
Not everyone in the club is dancing, or
paying attention, and this does not
escape his notice.

Suddenly "G-Spot" comes to a rousing
end. The CROWD cheers wildly. Prince
moves quickly to the piano and launches
into "Electric Intercourse," a love
ballad which, as it progresses, becomes
a personal statement for Vanity and
Prince himself.

Uptown Magazine dedicated an issue to the deleted footage from this film (as well as his other films). If I remember correctly, Uptown reported that this performance was filmed along with a performance of G-Spot according to "shooting schedules". If anyone can dig up that article and post it, I would love to read it again.

I have that same bootleg.I wonder if there really is a Vanity 6 version of that song? hmmm it would have been perfect for them.I've always imagined that this could have been the Side One of their second album:

Sex Shooter

Vibrator

G-Spot

that's three great songs right there! It would have been a kickass album.

Definately I prefer Prince(studio cut) 2 the 1987 Jill Jones release

I think that would have been a hot Prince/Jill song,

isn't there a woman singing behind Prince on that anyway?

the Vanity 6 album would have been HOT

the V6 version of Sex Shooter killed it, that song showed that Vanity (owned) that frontman position, and you can tell Prince knew it and loved it too

Susan & Brenda responded very well 2 Vanity's presence

Sex Shooter

Vibrator

G-Spot

Manic Monday

Blue Limousine

A Million Miles

Sugar Walls (that would have been hot)

Prince would have never given up that many hits for one album that wasn't his or to someone who's vocals weren't that great. However it would have been a killer album.

Well he did actually, all of those except for Sugar Walls were done by his proteges Vibrator & G-Spot & Manic Monday were already slated for the V6 album, and Blue ... & A Million Miles on the A6 album

Yeah and when he came to his senses, he snatched all those songs back. Good thing he did cause he or WB never pushed the album hard and they would've been lost gems.

He realized how strong of songs they were. I mean could you really dig 17 Days had Apollonia 6 kept the song? Brenda probably would have been ok, but its much better coming from Prince.

Manic Monday going to the Bangles was a great move as the song got world wide exposure and was #2 to his #1 Kiss.

I must admit the first time I heard Sugar Walls I thought it was Apollonia 6 cause it sound so Prince like, and then I heard it was Sheena Easton and the Dj knew it a Prince penned tune, and again a great move as Sheena's record company was going to push it hard since Purple Rain exploded.

Glamorous Life was also better served by Sheila E. and we know how that turned out. Granted the rest of the album sounds like old Vanity and Apollonia 6 cast offs (I still dig it though).

Take Me With U was better suited for Purple Rain and he kept Apollonia's vocals which I guess is a win for her.

As for Apollonia 6's album I still like and listen to it even though it was gutted of great songs, I mean top notch song at that. A toned down Sex Shooter (Vanity 6 version with the guitar is killer), Happy Birthday Mr. Christian is funky as well as Blue Limosine. I really like Some Kind Of Lover (I'm surprised Prince didn't keep that for himself). And I Love You(A Million Miles) is good too(I even like the muddy boot of Prince's version).

Oh oh I gotcha

I could see Vanity 6 doing a lot of them, yeah once Vanity left, and he knew Apollonia couldn't really handle the spot nor was she committed to the role past her contract, I would have took em back too

Originally he did want like a GB type movie soundtrack with the all the movie songs on it

I wonder which songs not included might have gone along with deleted scenes

I swear "If the Kid Can't Make U Come" is a part of the barn scene

I remember that on the 12 inch single of When Doves Cry on the B-Side "17 Days" says from the motion picture Purple Rain. It made me think it was cut last minute from the film.
