Did you know that Feist covered Prince, and that you knew the song without knowing it was her?

Canadian-born artist Feist has been quite successful for the last 10 years so I take it u all know about her, but I just discovered that she covered a Prince song... incognito... though most of the people here probably have heard the cover in question...

It's the first track of the If I Was Prince tribute comp from 2001, Sexy Dancer covered by 7 Hurtz, Peaches and Bitch Lap Lap. Being a Peaches fan I knew Bitch Lap Lap as being an old associate of hers.

What I didn't know until today is that the dirty, rude and usually half undressed Bitch Lap Lap is no other than... delicate pop-star Feist lol lol lol

For the record, Peaches also covered another Prince song (Ooo She She Wa Wa), this time with funk artist Snax, on his first solo album named From The Rocking Chair To The Stage, back in 2004.

Well, different projects, different alter-egos: it seems the Bitch Lap Lap concept was actually conceived after the Feist concept had started. It was created in the context of Peaches' own project, which has nothing to do with Feist's solo project, and I don't think she ever used that name outside of Peaches' records and live shows.

I knew this. I've had the If I Was Prince tribute album for years now and included the Feist/Peaches duet on my org music club mixtape in this thread: http://prince.org/msg/8/332431

And here's a pic of former roommates Feist and Peaches in the studio together:
