Wendy: We thought that the Brits would be a great time for me and Lisa and Prince to the world that we are stronger, bigger, better and truer than ever. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out that way. There was no press and no direction from Prince to let the people know that was happening. So the result was no one knew that me and Lisa were even in that band! The last song of the night was "Let's Go Crazy" and the cameras were on the twins. It was a real bummer. But it is what it is. We hoped it would be different.

1. Te Amo Corazon

At 42,000 feet above the sea
That's where U and I first came 2 be
From the dust of the earth and the knowledge tree
Te amo corazón

At last I can tell U what I've known so long
My heart's been crying out 2 sing this song
I don't care who knows it cuz there's nothing wrong
Te amo corazón

I'm so scared of losing U
I really don't know what I'd do
Can't bear the thought of another day apart
My heart, my heart... corazón

You reunited with Prince in 2006 at the Brit Awards Tell us a little bit about what led to that reunion and what it was like to rehearsing for the show. Also, the version of "Te Amo Corzon" played that night was very different, did you all work out that arrangement together?

Lisa:

Prince had been in touch with Wendy a little during that time and he asked us both if we would come play at the Brits with him. We hung out a couple of times and had dinner. We jammed... just the three of us. It was a BLAST! Then Sheila came and a few of us played around with Te Amo... we were just in his living room with a guitar and piano... congas? And it was really nice. So, yes, we worked out a little arrangement together.

Wendy:

We thought that the Brits would be a great time for me and Lisa and Prince to the world that we are stronger, bigger, better and truer than ever. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out that way. Yes they all did,

I think they only reason I can see Morris is because he is standing below Lisa, I don't remember 'seeing' John at all

What a wasted opportunity this was. Prince's passive aggressive relationship with Wendy & Lisa is truly sad for those of us who were there through the heyday of the Revolution.

His inability to maintain relationships with those from his past is unreal. Even Sheila is kicked to the curb now. They don't have to be bandmates or even work together, but considering how close they all were, there is no reason things should be the way they still are between P, Wendy & Lisa. And frankly, it's on Prince why they remain this way.

Very much a wasted opportunity. Disappointing song choice, too. To open with a ballad, that only his fans would know, followed by another song that would be strange to 99% of his audience...

Can't fault the choice of the last two songs, though!

This was actually one of my least favourite television appearances or live clips ever. The mix was way off, and there was something sloppy about "Let's Go Crazy"...

Also, everyone except the twins and Cora looked stiff and uncomfortable.

"Te Amo Corazon" was one of the better perfomances.

The bootys are a very important integral part of his shows and ego, they always have been. I'd have thought it's common knowledge by now.

He'd never go on stage without a booty next to him with a spotlight on. He's just into ass! razz

Prince I will always miss and love U.

Jesus. I commented that the choice of songs could have been better given the audience, so I'm a "hater"? Grow up.

That's right, nobody watched it on television at all.

Who looked stiff?

I think because it was some kind of 'reunion' of sorts I can understand any kind of uncomfortableness

Wendy wasn't stiff at all to me, she was all over the stage, Sheila was loose too 4 someone in a hot evening gown,

I wonder what energy Prince put out to the band. Josh did look stiff

If it was me I would have put Tamar & the Twinz on a higher space behind the band like behind and to the side of Lisa, They definately looked good, but it was a bit of disctraction especially since the twinz were out on the 2nd then 4th song, maybe he should have closed with Purple Rain

and the leaving Tamar out on PR didn't make sense, the kiss was weak

2. Fury

U must have heard it on the news this morning
Congratulations, a new star is born
Sun 2 shadow, rose 2 a thorn
But there ain't no fury like a woman scorned

Y'all musta dug it when U did your thang
It's like the song everybody wanna sang
When the music's over your ears'll ring
With a voice that says "Queen got no king"
Got no king, (No, she don't)

I forget, but was there a point to the appearance - did he get an award? It wasn't promo for the 21 nights shows was it because that was a long way away, right?

Prince, 2006 - Brit Awards: the top ten live performance

Seemingly lost to legal wranglings and symbolic name changes, Prince made a spectacular comeback at the show in 2006. Blasting through a medley of his biggest hits while twiddling out some incredible guitar solos, he used the slot as an amuse bouche for his 21 night stint at the O2 the following year.

Prince Still Hasn't Decided on Brit Awards Performance

February 14th, 2006 9:55am EST

Prince hasn't decided whether he will play the Brit Awards tomorrow night. Organisers have been forced to leave a space on the running order in case the '80s pop superstar does turn up and wants to perform. If he shows, it will the Purple Rain singer's first live UK performance in almost a decade.

Prince - who flew into the UK yesterday - has also kept hotel bosses guessing by reserving suites at several locations around London. An insider told The Sun newspaper: "Prince had rooms booked at The Metropolitan Hotel, The Royal Garden in Kensington and The Dorchester.

"He had a greeting party waiting at the Royal Garden in Kensington at 3.30pm - the hotel pulled out all the stops."

The source added: "He planned to sweep into a car park and wait there until the paparazzi had gone away. But there were no photographers waiting at all. He then got cold feet and made a last minute decision to go to The Dorchester."
