Has anyone noticed how alot of P's albums from the 80s are 9 tracks in length? He should do that with more of his releases and cut off the 'chaff'. Especially the symbol album. SO many interludes and tracks could have just been cut off.

But everyone has their own opinons about what is chaff and what is wheat. So who is the final arbiter in such matters?

I love Prince's 9 song albums. I wouldn't cut anything from though.

Graf Bridge and Diamonds&Pearls would benefit from such an
approach.

you could cut so much from the symbol album, especially the raps. what the hell was Prince thinking? "i can make my music hip?"

getting in guest rappers are never good for anything. Its not good for Shaggy, its not good for Prince, its not good for No Doubt. Who wants to hear someone else rap on a Prince album? especially when its done in the early 90s with someone with as much edge as a blunt spoon. The whole NPG has no edge. You could let a baby play with the NPG because its not gonna hurt itself.

You wouldnt want to let a baby near the Revolution though. Dr Fink would rip their eyes out with a piercing keyboard solo!
