Do you keep a separate MPLS/Prince playlist from your other music?

I have several playlists in my ipod, but I noticed that I have a hard time mixing Prince into my other playlists and that I rather keep his music seperate and that I enjoy it more that way.

Anyone else have this problem?

Yes.

I wouldn't call it a "problem" though. It just is.

Though I don't see it as a problem, I keep ALL my Prince music separate from my other music. On my computer, mp3 player even down to separate storage boxes. Even my Prince cd's are separated, Cds, Singles & cassettes all have separate boxes. Ive just always done it this way, I don't know why!!!!! Oh & They are catalogued so they go back in Chronilogical order....... Strange I know but that's just me!! nuts

Prince once tried 2 change his name 2 a symbol so that ur'e mother couldn't find him in the phonebook!

Lovesexy - that is so funny - now I am even more paranoid I am thinking of buying another hard-drive to backup on as well, in case one drive fails !!!

Mind you, it is much easier storing boots and things on a HD than burning on to original discs like years ago and storing those. So a couple of hard drives really is a good investment - also when you think of the $ you spend on CDrs - then you save in the end.

But all the official stuff like CDs and DVDs and some of my fav boots are stored in a box - WHICH IS PURPLE MAY I ADD - with HRH Prince on it - LOL biggrin

All the other artists can hang out in the "other" boxes.......afterall you cannot mix common folk with royalty now can you ???? biggrin

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

I dont have Playlists setup, I just have my P music set up like an imaginary remastered release of the album. eg

1999 (Standard Album)

1999 Disc 2 (all B-sides, ext re-mixes, and "perfect" sounding alternate versions. ie Something In The Water & DMSR)

1999 Disc 3 (the Demos, and any other song released during that time, good or bad quality)

Prince stands alone in his own genre/s, and so deserves playlists seperated from anything else. For me this also applies to all phisical formats. My entire collection, Tapes CD's, Vinal, VHS, DVD's, Programs, and other memorobila is housed completly seperatly (and cronologically) from my other music. Good work Lovesexy06! lol

On my Windows Media Player on my PC, I have a playlist 4 just Prince, then one 4 Elisa Fiorillo, one 4 Alicia Keys, and several others unrelated 2 Prince.

Bottom line - Prince is in a class all by himself as far as I'm concerned, and it just makes sense 2 make a Prince-only playlist.

iTunes also has "Favourites" and "Top Pissed Party Tunes". Kiss and Girls and Boys are in the latter.

I have a 2 TB external hard drive...not full by any means....but still exclusivy Prince....practically. with storage...I think overkill is always best...the cost is so low...its always better to have too much space than not enuff....cuz at Tue end of the day...to much space ALWAYS leads to not enough eventually....lol.

several playlists with Prince mixed in.

however, I label all of his stuff and related-artists stuff as "Prince" in the genre field in iTunes so that I've got quicker access to only that stuff so that I can only sift through that material if I need to. helps when you've filled up a 160 GB iPod Classic and have several tens of thousands of tracks in your iTunes.

^^ I corrected my post it's 2 TB not GB........ 2 GB just wouldn't be anywhere near enough space!! lol

On my iPhone I have a playlist called Prince 78/88. And another playlist called 89-present. Each list contains my favorite P jams from those time periods.

~And even when I'm right, I'll be wrong...it's Automatic too.

Of course. And I have all my many Prince LPs in their own cabinet. Only Prince CDs in my car.

Not really. I have a three playlists....

The Purple Xone - That has Prince and Prince related material...

Purple Passion..all his slow songs

Purple Funk all the funk tunes. Some MPLS style songs I should put in the Purple Xone though since they still sound Prince like anyway....hmm.

Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.
