Lotusflow3r is a top-notch album, IMO. And I like 4ever, so I never skip that.

You have to play it with The Morning After in there somewhere, though.

THe Morning After is bonus track that came on the digital version. The physical copies in Target don't have it. He replace Crimson and Clover with the Morning After on the LotusFlow3r.com version

The Morning After is a great song, just like the rest of this album. I have to agree, this is a superb cd.

The morning after is the only prince song I have bought and intentionally deleted into non-existence, I couldn't stand it. I'm not a hater. That song was the 1 exception . Lol.

The CD version is great. It’s a shame Prince didn’t promote Lotusflower, he probably could have pulled a hit or two out of it and had a strong US tour. I guess the upside to getting paid up front is not doing anthing afterward.

One of his best albums.

The Morning After sounds like a Dream Factory track. Its more proof he can do it like before if he chose to ( which i actually don't want him to).

I would like an album akin to From The Lotus and Back To The Lotus. Not an instrumental, but a really out there and creative album....TRC is that, but i mean something like What's My Name/3121 as the funk and Beautiful Strange/Boom for the more rock oriented sound. However, something completely fresh is obviously better...Perhaps the merging of classical music, almost like he did on Xpectation with Vanessa Mae.

This Post is produced, arranged, composed and performed by WetDream

I have to admit I'm not a big fan of the song either. I have to be in the mood to listen to it.

I love LF and think it's about as good as Prince is likely to ever get again, if he even has the ability to equal that release in the future.

And I think that if you don't like LF, it's probably best that you just move on and not bother with any of Prince's newer music again. shrug

I love it when Lotusflower gets some recognition. It's easily in my top ten Prince albums. I kinda wish 3121 (the song) had been included on LF.

I love the album and I love The Morning After. The only track I'm not fussed with is 77 Beverly Park.

The way I listen to it is in the digital download order with Crimson & Clover as a bonus track at the end and I love it that way. For me it flows better with The Morning After coming after boom.

Lotusflower is good,

but not that good.

I can't give more than 8/10.

The album is in much lower quality than the classics 1980 to 1988.

at least imo. razz

It's his best one in awhile that is for sure. The Morning After is a great track, but it's shit-sure not worth the $77 I paid for it on that damn website.

Totally with you on that. I LOVE that song, and it really is far better than "Crimson and Clover". I really wished that the CD had "The Morning After", and "Crimson and Clover" was in the digital album form from the Lotusflow3r website, but oh well...

I've said many times here that 'Lotusflow3r' stands up to any Prince album. Brilliant album.

^ I've always felt that that Lotus is an excellent Prince album which stands up to many from his career - Imo the website fiasco, and the packaging with Mplsound/ Elixer knida watered down it's place with fan perception

The best thing about LotusFlow3r - Bria Valente's "Elixir"... and that's telling...

Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

Exactly! I have the Target version with C&C. The "original" version with Morning After should have been the version sold at Target. I don't dislike his cover version, but Morning After is even more organic, and flows better with the rest of the album.

His best since "Gold Experience" for me. I love the 1986 feel off this album, "$" and "77 beverly park" especially sound reminiscent of the Parade era to me. Just for the record i think "Crimson & Clover" is far better than "The Morning after".

We're here, might as well get into it.

Lotusflower was the album that got me into being a Prince fan, and even though it's not necessarily my absolute favourite Prince album, I still like it a lot.

Mind you, I also like MPLSound, so maybe I just have no idea.
