777 Challenge - Greatest Hits Create a 17-track "Greatest Hits" of the last 21 years of Prince's music, broken up into 7 year increments. Anything that he has touched and has a studio release should be considered! NPG, Bria, Mayte, VanGogh, etc. Studio boots are welcome too, but songs should be categorized by date of recording or relation to an album release.
As a bonus, each 17 track set should come with 4 Live Tracks performed during that time span. 2010 had Prince playing an awesome Bass Medley set with The Stick, 777-9311, etc.
You don't have to have a track from every year! If you want 17 tracks from Emancipation, and 4 tracks from the Love4OneAnother tour as a set, that's your call!
Here's a template to help get people going:
2012 2011 2010 2009 2008 2007 2006 4 Bonus Live Tracks
2005 2004 2003 2002 2001 2000 1999 4 Bonus Live Tracks
1998 1997 1996 1995 1994 1993 1992 4 Bonus Live Tracks

From a former thread,
My take on a Prince Hits compilation in a chronologic order,
however no live tracks are included:
The Hits 1: (1978-1985)
1. "Soft and Wet" – 3:03 6. "Dirty Mind" – 3:49 (single edit) 13. "Delirious" – 2:39 (single edit) 14. "When Doves Cry" – 3:48 (single edit) 18. "Raspberry Beret" – 3:32
The Hits 2: (1985-1992)
1. "Nothing Compares 2 U" – 4:58 (live) 2. "Kiss" – 3:46 (single edit) 4. "Girls And Boys" - 5:29 5. "Anotherloverholenyohead" - 3:58 6. "Sign "☮" the Times" – 3:43 (single edit) 11. "Alphabet St." – 5:39 13. "Thieves in the Temple" – 3:20
Outtake: Pink Cashmere & Peach
The Hits 3: (1994-2001)
1. The Most Beautiful Girl In The World 18. Future Soul Song
^ most of these are released singles.
Not necessary the best Prince songs.

Nice list!
I am planning on doing this myself. Every June 7th, I have a ritual of listening to as much "purple" music as possible. I usually end up getting back on a Prince-kick for a few weeks. This time, I've been listening to a lot of the 80's music. I've decided I should give the post Diamonds and Pearls era a fair shot. I was listening to 777-9311 at the time, and decided I'd break it down into 3 7 year intervals. I wanted to have some live cuts too. The 17 tracks per set is a homage to 17 Days, and the 4 bonus tracks totals 21 tracks per set, which matches the total amount of years the sets would cover.
