You losers need to accept the fact that Prince is a bigoted JW, and that's never going to change. Like all cowards, as he continues to age, he needs a good fairy-tale to explain away the harsh realities of the world and take him by the hand into the non-existent after-life. He's only going to get more insular and bigoted as time goes by, just like your dear granny blathering on about her dead religion, Prince will do the same until the only people left in the audience are the starry-eyed purple cultists lapping up every word of their Dear Leader.

Prince has no intellectual curiosity, zero sense of world history or the cosmos; if he did, he would be laughing and embarrassed by his actions of the past ten years, but he is, in fact, happily entrenched with the JWs and their bronze-age world view.

Update this thread when his colonized mind utters a curse, when he publicly rejects the bigotry and hatred of the JWs, when he stops palling around with his brain-washer, Larry Graham, when there's one shred of evidence that he is in fact, no longer just another mindless drone in the army of religion.

Hahahahaha....Did he really say that or is that a soundbite?? LOL

I would say in summary, as I mentioned earlier AGAIN..lol: "He thinks he is one, AND

As the years has gone by he's not as expressive about those beliefs, occasionally he says something of the JW's. But it seems as if he only quotes them when he wants to avoid conversations about anything personal..lol. In other words; as you said..."For His convenience"

Yes, he said it on the second night of the tour in Sydney during "How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore". 'So what I got baptized.. I still like a fire between your thighs'

As others have said here, he THINKS he is a strict JW but they would not go for the suggestive stuff he still does. Yes it is EXTREMELY watered down from the old days but lines like above and some of the stuff he has improvised during "Little Red Corvette" would NEVER fly with a strict JW. Hell, performing "Shhh" alone would not fly with a JW.

To Hell with Larry for pouncing on a man devastated by the loss of his baby and brainwashing Prince the way he did, but Prince is an adult and has to be held responsible for ALLOWING it to happen as well.

And Wall, agreed 100%. Great post.

I believe he said: "So what I got baptized, I'd still LIGHT a fire between those thighs"

i wonder what his current standing is with the JW faith. he definitely has cooled down on the preaching since 2002. Maybe we'll know if/when he performs "The Cross" or "The Christ" again if he still remains faithful to the religion or not.. i recently read an interesting book called "Growing up in Mama's Club" a true story about a boy raised as a JW who eventually worked for the church before leaving at the age of 20. An interesting insight in to the religion and church..

My grandmother's in "The Truth", she's the only one in my family who is. I'm going to have to order that book!

What factors can you attribute to helping his growth? NOTE - if you do not believe in GOD, please refrain from belittling those who seek such counsel. Please be respectful to all viewpoints, otherwise you will be banished. Finally, what do you hope the new album will sound like given that Prince is back to being that lone wolf in the wilderness? Unfortunately I juste hope for one thing, that Prince will drop his believes one day.

Why ? Well in my opinion he lost it all the way in his personal development as a musician. It didn't made him 'grow' as some poeple like to state it. It rather cut him off in being what he was super good at. And that's being 'dirty'. Of course, the fact that he mixed his believes with sex, and even stated in early interview(s) that 'coming' for him personally was/is as close as he can get to (something called by believers as) 'god'. Thát is what Prince also made such an interesting and intrigueing personality. He was and still is in my opinion the one who tried openened up 'sex' in a lyrical way in music. And he succeeded in that. And because of that, he openend up a world of sexual freedom for a lot of people, even for the ones that 'believe'.

But, like most hyper believers, there comes a point when they 'return' so to speak to a more enclosed form of believing. Again, I don't care for people believing, certainly not. It's a freedom and a great thing for those who know how to cope it, and handle it in public. Religion is like a penis, I once read; "It's fine to have one & be proud of it. But don't whip it out in public or start waving it around. And please don't try to shove it down my (children's) throat."

When Prince 'forced' us to follow him around the 'Rainbow Children' era, loads of fans left. He knows that. Why do you think he changed right after that era ? He kept on believing, but realised big time it doesn't sell. Certainly not over her ein Europe. I remember feeling the embarrased moment when he was playing live overher in europe, when he started to talk to his audience about believing and shit. There he went wrong.. He knows. smile

By the way (off topic probably), why is it that 'believers' always want others to follow them, or convince them of 'growing'. What the fuck is growing ? I mean, growing up, trying to get along with others and most of all yourself. IsSn't that just called 'life' ? Why does it need to be dictated by a so called '(higher) personality' ?!

Remember, believers, that back in history they shoved up all kinds of believes into peoples throats and asses, and if youdidn't liked it, you got killed. Like unfortunately millions of others had to go through.

Fortunately we're (getting) a bit more civilised these days. Still, I never asked anyone to quit his believes or religion to follow me as a absolute unbeliever, free and happy. Never ever. Why ? I don't WANT to convince others in that fashion. Same with politics. Whatever.

To me, Prince is in many ways a friendly and charming tiran, a small cute dictator perhaps even... (Strong words, I know. But) the fella remotes everything around him. People, thoughts, eating, accepting, living. He wants to control it all. I'm not sure it brought him any good in life. Religion might be a part in his life to deal with all this and his own difficult personality. But that doesn't give you the right to force others to follow you by all means.

At one moment, he got seriously isolated in life IMHO. I mean, he ís music, breathes it, and eats it. No problem with that. But it got him off the world (quit a bit) by demanding so much from others for his awesome talent.

Like lyrical wise, he's not telling us very much either, right ? I mean, how develloped ís Prince in real life ? He's intelligent. But is he emotionally a strong person? It's easy to hold up religion as a screen to see and feel. But as fans all we can say is that we don't know much about him.

Only through the those who once worked for/with him. These days, the ones working for him don't tell shit. They lick ass. That's normal. One wants to get paid at the end of the month. But sooner or later they all leave, or get fired. A long list excists. Are there still 'non-believers' in Prince's camp or band ? Well, I don't know for sure of course, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me if not.

(A big organisation like Prince's business probably has some. wink

I remember those great blogs by Michael Koppelman... He talked for hours about how great a talent, and the same normal asshole Prince is in a working environment as well as private. Prude even... if i remember correct. (I love these stories of Michael Koppelman, I'm goign to dig them right now again. smile)

If Prince should grow in his believes, then at this point it might be true. The less he talks about it, the less he's open about, the more private he is about it, the more in peace he is with himself and others.

It's just called growing up and letting go.

If someone is writing a book and comes to a fansite to gather ideas, inspirations and fan thoughts, why is that considered bait? As for the impersonation comment, seems many here can deal out insults, but few are open minded enough to share or understand nuanced jokes.

I think that's putting Prince in a box though. He's also super good at other things. TRC, Lotusflower are specifically excellent.

That doesn't mean that he has to continue doing what he's been doing. Maybe he still feels the same about sex and orgasm he just doesn't need to be so blatant about it. That is called 'growth' not having to shock but resting assured in something that we know and believe to be what it is without having to prove it.

No one forced anyone to follow anyone. How can you give so much power to any one other person on this earth? You mean you are in the hands of others? They control you? No-one should have that much power.

Because believers normally want to share their new found joy, that's why. Growing imo is the conscious awareness that we are not only in this illusional world of material existence only but that there are much deeper forces at work e.g. just nature alone....(ever watched a beautiful jellyfish for an hour swimming around). Growing means you learn to appreciate and feel what you are inside and not only the outside world and what it can give you. That is another level and not the same as running around doing things, beings things, without knowing the unconscious driving thought/feeling behind it.

Remember, believers, that back in history they shoved up all kinds of believes into peoples throats and asses, and if youdidn't liked it, you got killed. Like unfortunately millions of others had to go through.

True and it's been a violent history. yet still I think, if we had no religion at all up to this day the world would be worse. Those who have turned from religion now have $ as their God and their tricks are just as corrupt.

Fortunately we're (getting) a bit more civilised these days. Still, I never asked anyone to quit his believes or religion to follow me as a absolute unbeliever, free and happy. Never ever. Why ? I don't WANT to convince others in that fashion. Same with politics. Whatever.

Do you never debate, question your opinions and/or change your mind about anything? How can you know that everything you know and beleive is 'right' when you only hear/see one vision?

Like lyrical wise, he's not telling us very much either, right ? I mean, how develloped ís Prince in real life ? He's intelligent. But is he emotionally a strong person? It's easy to hold up religion as a screen to see and feel. But as fans all we can say is that we don't know much about him.

And I think that's right. He has a right to privacy like we all do, he's not a monkey in a cage for the whole world to view.

If Prince should grow in his believes, then at this point it might be true. The less he talks about it, the less he's open about, the more private he is about it, the more in peace he is with himself and others. It's just called growing up and letting go.

Well, that letting go is maybe moving into the next phase, often called 'higher' phase of life growth and it brings many people to ponder and discover the layers of depth in life. Including many famous academics and artists alike. It is there that they often encounter the concept of God and become open to something bigger than themself.

Some people have always and will always use "God" religion, in order to hold terror among others..

I may not believe in the JW idea of God, but still, I do believe in the "holy spirit" the positive spirit residing inside of my mind.

SpiritOtter is not using God in any way. He's merely suggesting in good old fashioned humour, which I believe many fail to perceive, that we prevent the thread running riot with unnecessary criticism and anger at religion/God/Prince's choice/way the music's gone because of it etc.

Instead, those that hold no anger against such beliefs and recognise a God concept throughout Prince's music, are invited to contribute with ideas. The introduction post is a precaution, wise to take on Prince.org if you want fruitful discussion and not needless bashing of religion and its participants. Seeking counsel here is about participating in the discussion imo.

Nice quote by the way.

Who said anything about aethiests? There are agnosts who don't follow any religion and still worship money.

The poster was referring to past aggressive religious murderers. I say they still exist in those, who through their wish to conquer and insatiable greed, put millions in financial and pyschological stress. Same aggression, different tool and method, but the tool is not God but self gain only.

But what do you call the executive management of Barclays or those involved in other white collar crime Were they religious? Are they aethists? Are they agnosts? Or are they people who have turned from religion and serve £ as their God? For better or worse lol

Anyway Mr Camerson...'yes what we need is less regulation.' lol Because humans are so trustworthy and close to God, uh, I mean £.
