Parade Overall 93% A=+ (3rd best whole album, only Sign o the Times and Purple Rain I have ranked higher).
As you can see I love it all, Venus De Milo not as much as its a short instrumental but pleasant enough. I would give Mountains an 11 if I could the track, would be in my Prince Top 10. This album is great, sublime funk numbers mixed in with some amazing ballads, assured song writing and a band sound. Plus he was rocking one of his best looks ever at the time. Love this album. The grown up Prince album. I thought he was maturing album to album pretty nicely. Sadly that wasn't the case. After the Revolution broke up, we saw Prince start suffering from arrested development.

Wow, I never figured it would be so difficult to do this. The top 6 are so wonderful, it's hard to believe a song as great as New Position is # 7. Only I Wonder U and Venus De Milo don't get super high marks, but since they are so short, I never skip a song when listening to this album. When I got it, I was a bit sad that there was only one real big hit on it, as I knew that Kiss would be the only Top Ten hit from my first listen. I really wanted Prince to have the hits and the critical success. The best thing though, was knowing that I still got the music when the bandwagon fans all but left the building.

I agree. Plus I love Databank too how Prince would teased his bandmembers as I heard their names on the song. I was just listening to that the other day. I have to admit Prince and the Revolution will always have the magic that just can't be duplicate compare to his other bands. | |
